Text

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : Were you going to tell me that the police were looking into murders at the Sea View Hotel before or after they heard I was looking into the land around it?

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : Good morning, Ms. Robbins. I figured it would come up at some point. It looks like it did.

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : Mrs. And you're lucky I like Detective Quintanilla even less than I like you, otherwise I would have told him you were the one that asked me about this. At any rate, I'm not the first person to look into whether or not the Sea View Hotel could be designated as a historical landmark, Joseph Pursley looked into it as well but we both found nothing that could support the claim.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : That's very interesting. And it's fine if you tell the detective, Ms. Robbins. I'm not hiding. You know. Pursley is, I believe, a fairly wealthy man. Who seems dedicated to stopping this casino project. You're very charming. If you were to reach out to him with a similar passion, you might be able to persuade him to donate to your fundraising efforts. And maybe find out some interesting information, besides.

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : Mrs. The permit office didn't see anything that made any claim on the land around the hotel, but it's possible they just didn't tell me about it if it exists. Pursley is the one pushing that fish thing you mentioned. Cutter Trout or something like that. There's some kind of legal case. And I may just reach out to him, the idea of a casino here where there's already too much crime and too many strip clubs is distasteful.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : Coastal Cutthroat Trout. There's only one strip club. Too much crime, though, yes. And a casino is unlikely to make that better.

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : Like I said, too many. The Detective said the two people murdered were the owners and that there's a daughter that is likely going to inherit. You might want to reach out to her and see if anyone's approached her about a sale.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : I will. Thank you, Mrs. Robbins. I'm aware that neither I nor the police rank on your favorite people list, and I appreciate your willingness to work with me. You're more in touch with the political and financial side of things than myself; does the name Joshua Foster ring any bells - other than the obvious one of building the casino?

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : No, but for the past year or so I haven't exactly been as involved in the social and political scenes of this town as much as I might have liked. And I'm willing to work with anyone that's interested in raising the profile of this place. In ways that aren't as a haven for crime and incivility.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : Are you sure this is a place that should have its profile raised? There are reasons for the crime.

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : Lax police presence and inept Detectives, I know.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : That's not the only factor. But I do wonder why you care. You're not local. Gray Harbor isn't exactly a prestigious town with congenial company. Why not enjoy yourself in Seattle or LA or something?

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : siri text Clayton its not like I didn't try to leave actually delete that text my husband loved something about this town and it would be disrespectful to his memory to not do my best to leave it at least slightly better off than it was when we moved here.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : I tried to leave, too. Didn't take. But if you're going to stay, it's nice to try to make it a better place. Also, voice recognition systems are still charmingly inept.

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : ((long pause between last text and this one)) Well, it's not like it would take much to make anything around here better.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : It wouldn't. You really should talk to Byron Thorne. After this Saturday. Not before. He has similar interests in raising the town's appeal for tourists and others.

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : Mister Thorne is working with the historical society on a number of upcoming events and fundraisers. Is he out of town until Sunday?

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : No. Just still recovering from the same things I am. And a depressingly high percentage of the town. But I'm glad you're working together.

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : Ah, the flu? I just got over that myself a few days ago. Don't bother going to Safeway for Klennex, they're out.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : Really? I heard about the chicken soup situation on Facebook, but not the dire shortage of tissues. ::smiley face emoji::

(TXT to Alexander) Clarissa : Hopefully it won't last much longer. In any event, I have other meetings. Should I hear of anything else I'll let you know, unless Detective Quintanilla decides to waste more of his time on me rather than actual leads.

(TXT to Clarissa) Alexander : I appreciate that, Mrs. Robbins. Thank you.
