Text

(TXT to August) Alexander: Costumes. I think I'm going as Phantom of the Opera. Too corny?

(TXT to Alexander) August: corn is a derisive of teosinte grass, mesoamericans bred it into maize about 9000 years ago. don't think phantom looks like grass.

(TXT to Alexander) August: wait what was the question

(TXT to August) Alexander: August?

(TXT to Alexander) August: I'm not sure I'm thinking all that clearly, this is a bad time to ask me for opinions

(TXT to August) Alexander: Have you been drinking?

(TXT to Alexander) August: no.

(TXT to August) Alexander: ...concussion?

(TXT to Alexander) August: no. maybe you could call it drinking. does absorbing something through a cut in your palm count as drinking

(TXT to August) Alexander: No. It doesn't count as drinking. August, what did you absorb through your palm?

(TXT to Alexander) August: the roots of the suckers are growing much faster than I thought

(TXT to August) Alexander: ::frowny face emoji:: August.

(TXT to Alexander) August: they would, thanks for moving them. they like the spots you picked.

(TXT to August) Alexander: They're welcome. So are you. What are you on?

(TXT to Alexander) August: sorry phone feels awkward to hold, kind of cold and slimy

(TXT to August) Alexander: Slimy?

(TXT to Alexander) August: on? the ground. laying here. it feels nice. a little cold, my bones don't like it.

(TXT to Alexander) August: it was sap. or water. maybe blood. do dryads have blood? not sure how that works.

(TXT to August) Alexander: (...)

(TXT to August) Alexander: (...)

(TXT to August) Alexander: I'm really not sure what to say to that.

(TXT to August) Alexander: I imagine the most accurate word would be 'ichor', considering the mythological origin of dryads.

(TXT to Alexander) August: not sure how to describe it except everything is about 90000000 times more detailed than I'm used to. oh but Finch and I convinced the dryads to let us fix things so they shouldn't be trouble.

(TXT to August) Alexander: Is Ms. Celaeno also wandering around high as fuck on dryad ichor?

(TXT to Alexander) August: excellent word. ichor. anyways I think some got in us when we shook hands.

(TXT to Alexander) August: why would I let her wander?? no she's at home. probably laying in the grass like I am.

(TXT to August) Alexander: Okay. Laying in the grass is probably the absolute second-best thing you could be doing. Go inside if it starts raining.

(TXT to Alexander) August: I will. or at least move to a chair on the porch. not sure. hard to make decisions like this, all I really want to do is feel.

(TXT to August) Alexander: Are they good feelings, at least?

(TXT to Alexander) August: mostly neither. I can feel the earthworms digging. and the roots making new cells. and the stoma opening and closing. and if I concentrate hard enough, the little f1f0 fan spinning around.

(TXT to Alexander) August: erica the neighbors daughter, she's making my mask. said it would be cool and spooky.

(TXT to August) Alexander: Oh, those sorts of feelings. That's interesting, at least. What are you going as?

(TXT to Alexander) August: she was unclear. so I guess we'll see.

(TXT to August) Alexander: Ah. A surprise. How old is Erica? Trying to pinpoint likelihood of seeing you in a Spongebob Squarepants mask.

(TXT to Alexander) August: not that young. unlikely to be mainstream.

(TXT to August) Alexander: Darn.

(TXT to Alexander) August: rain. going to go inside. a bath sounds nice.

(TXT to August) Alexander: A warm bath. It's a bit chilly out there. Do not decide to feel how the water feels in your nose, and remember you don't have roots, but require air.

(TXT to Alexander) August: right. can't keep my end of the oath if I drown in my own tub.

(TXT to August) Alexander: Well. If that's what you need to remember 'don't drown' then fine. But I'm going to have questions later, August.

(TXT to Alexander) August: bathtime ::bathtub emoji::
