Text

(TXT to Lalo) Mariah : Do you work this evening?

(TXT to Mariah) Lalo : Sadly ::crying face:: What are you doing? Let me live vicariously through you.

(TXT to Lalo) Mariah : Poor baby. I was going to see if you wanted to do something since I just got off of work, but, have you had dinner yet? I could grab you something and run it up to you.

(TXT to Mariah) Lalo : Actually, that would be great. I'm due for a break soon.

(TXT to Lalo) Mariah : What would you like me to pick up? And it's my treat. 🙂

(TXT to Mariah) Lalo : Pizza sounds good right about now. Thanks, I appreciate it. All I've had time to do today is mainline coffee.

(TXT to Lalo) Mariah : Alright, one my way. What kind of pizza? And should I get some for your fellow nurses on your floor?

(TXT to Mariah) Lalo : All the meat 😉 I'm sure they'd like some if you wanted to do that. I'll wait for you at the nurses' station.

(TXT to Lalo) Mariah : You got it and I'll be there in a bit with pizza.

(TXT to Mariah) Lalo : See you soon ::big smile::

True to his word, Lalo is waiting at the nurses' station, and there seems to be somewhat of a lull in the excitement, because he looks relatively relaxed. Of course, he seems like he's probably a pretty chill guy in general. Not that she knows him that well, but still. He's looking at something on one of the computers, his eyes scanning whatever it is that he's reading before he types something in, then glances down at what's probably a chart.

Angels come in all shapes and sizes. The Pizza Angel appears as a petite platinum blonde with a flowing mane of hair and a bright smile as she heads for the nurses station. Two pizza boxes are being carried along with a bag of drinks and some paper plates. She's dressed in snug fitting jeans, a cream collared sweater and a black leather jacket. She stops to read one of the signs and then heads for the nurses station.

Mariah smiles when she sees the man sitting there, "So I got a deliver for a Lalo. All the meat?" she asks as she waits for him to look up. "Seems like there's a lull, which is never a bad thing." she admits.

Even better than a regular angel! Lalo looks up when he hears his name, and when he sees who it is, he grins, sitting back and taking it all in. "You know how sometimes when you get something unexpected, it's even better than if you went out and got it for yourself?" he asks, standing up and stepping around the edge of the station. "Thanks," he continues, "this is amazing."

"It's kind of like when you finally get that red rider bb-gun for Christmas?" Mariah states with a chuckle. "So I brought two large pizzas, this should feed you and some of the other nurses." she smiles to that. "I brought sodas and paper plates as well. Figured we'd not eat like savages out of our hands." she grins. Then she looks up to him, "So...besides awesome blondes bringing you dinner, how is your night?" she asks him.

"Oh yeah, it's exactly like that. Right up until you shoot out your eye." Lalo grins, reaching to relieve her of some of the burdens, because he's super gentlemanly that way. It's not because he wants to be closer to the pizza. Definitely not. "You really went all out," he says. "Probably made some friends for life." As for how the night is going, he continues, "It's been okay. Nothing major so far. Guess everyone's out of town for the holiday. Not that I'm gonna complain about that."

"I didn't need to get near any guns when I was little. But I saw that movie and I laughed." Mariah nods to that. She hands over the pizzas and then settles the sodas on the desk of the nurses station. "I figured you guys bust your asses up here, someone could bring you dinner." she smiles to that. "And...I wanted to see you again. Even if it was to bring you dinner." she admits. "If that's not super creepy." she adds.

"Yeah, I was never into that stuff," Lalo admits with a little laugh of his own. "But I liked the movie." He opens one of the boxes and takes out a slice, transferring it onto a paper plate and grabbing a soda as well. "I wanted to see you, too," he adds after a moment. "I thought about texting you yesterday 'cause it was my birthday and I wasn't doing anything, but I ended up falling asleep instead. So if you're creepy then I guess we both are."

Mariah gives him a chuckle, "I have it on my Christmas movie rotation. Along with Scrooged." she admits. Though when he talks about seeing her again as well there's a smile. "Oh, it was your birthday? You should have texted, I could have taken you out for birthday dinner or something." she tells him. "So, we aren't creepy, but I'm glad we were thinking the same thing." she grins.

"Yeah, it was. But my birthday's so close to Thanksgiving that most of the time people'd either forget, or they'd be doing something else. I used to get pissed when I was younger, but now I don't need people to remember how old I am." Lalo grins, though, pretty clearly joking, and he takes a bite, his eyes closing as he lets out a little satisfied sigh. "That beats the hell out of a sandwich from the cafeteria," he admits when he's swallowed. "Now I'm gonna need to find a time to return the favor, but it's gonna have to be in a while so that you'll be surprised."

Mariah gives a smile, "Well, happy birthday. I guess we could always call you Turkey Baby, but I don't want to be found in a lake." she winks at him. "And what are you? Thirty something?" she teases him. "No need to get worried about age, sweets. It's nothing that matters in the end of things." she shrugs. "Maybe I'll have to bring you dinner once a week. Sadly I can't sneak beer up here." she muses. Then there's a smile, "I love food, so anytime you want to deliver it I'm game." she states.

"Thanks, mama. I promise it'd take more than that for you to be found in a lake. I won't tell you how much more, though. I like to keep some of the mystery going." The suggestion is a good one, though, and Lalo replies, "That's an idea. Think I should be thirty-eleven? It just has a nicer ring to it." He takes another bite, savoring the taste, before adding, "Careful, you're gonna get me used to it and I'll be spoiled."

Mariah giggles a little, "I don't think you're going to have the problem of me picking on you for name." she smiles to him. "And I think I can see just how far the buttons push. I'm not dumb and I don't like making people angry. So you've got that going for you." she tells him. "And yeah, thirty-eleven. I'll put it on a birthday card." she winks at him. She then gives a bit of a grin, "I don't mind spoiling people. Especially if they work their butts off." she points out.

Lalo sits back as he takes another bite -- he's going to kill the pizza pretty quickly at this rate. "At least there's that," he says with a grin. "And now I better get a birthday card or else I'm gonna riot." There's a nurse that passes them by then, and he calls, "Hey, Helen. Come get some pizza. Special delivery. Service with a smile." Well, Mariah is smiling!

The other nurse -- Helen, presumably -- pauses in her steps, and she looks down at the pie with obvious interest. "Oh, wow! Thanks, hon," she says with a smile of her own for Mariah, before she takes a piece. "I was just thinking how I didn't want to eat in the cafeteria."

"Right?" Lalo replies. "It's like the stars were aligned."

Mariah gives a grin, "I will give you a birthday card. You just watch." she tells him. Then she's looking to Helen and she smiles, "I was thinking that pizza might be good for the night shift." she tells her. "And it's no problem. You guys enjoy it." she adds. "Text me when you get off? Just so I know you make it home alright?" she asks Lalo. Then she's taking her soda, "Think I'm going to head home and walk the dog. You guys stay safe." she gives a grin and a little wiggle of her fingers as she departs.
