Post Krampusnacht it was sent down the vine that two children were missing. That means that the local police and the SAR team were out. That meant that Morrighan had sent a text to Devlin letting him know she was not going to be able to meet up with him after she got off shift. The red head was currently sitting in the parking lot at the police station going over maps with a few people.

She didn't tell Devlin he couldn't drop by. That didn't cross her mind.

Missing kids being texted about does attract Devlin's attention and knowing time is important, he shows up but parks his Rubicon on the other side of the parking lot a little later. He then walks over, coffees in hand over to where Morrigan is at. While she is engrossed with looking at maps, a cup of coffee the way she likes it is set before her. Devlin pauses a moment and then comments, "Figured you might need some coffee."

Morrigan was pointing out a few places and there's a look to the coffee when it's placed down and then to the person who did it. She smiles at Devlin, "Hey, thank you. That's very sweet." she tells him. Then everyone gets dismissed to go out and look. "I'm short a person if you wat to ride with me?" she looks to him. "Did you have fun at the parade?" she asks him.

"It was a good time, though one of the.." Devlin pauses for moment, "A Krampus was a bit out of shape and pushing it. I checked on him and made sure he got some cool water. Fortunately this time, not a heat causality. Ride along with you, sounds like a plan. So any consensus about what may have happened or a direction for the missing girls?"

Morrigan heads over to her truck and gets in, unlocking the door for Devlin, "Poor Krampus." she frowns at the mention of the out of shape one. She then heads off towards Gray Pond with her ride along. "Last time they were spotted was near Gray Pond. So hoping to find them there." she tells him.

Devlin nods as he hops in, "I guess if diving is needed, I'll be support from the land or a boat." He hmms, "A few places people can hide out there." He takes a sip of his coffee, "Lets hope this is a good search.

"I'm not sure what is going to be needed really. Just need to do our perimeter and see if they might wander through. I don't think they could have gotten that far given their ages. But I'm just wanting to make sure we find them before it gets colder." she tells him.

Devlin nods, "I know a little tracking basics.. from Bowhunting. Hopefully little girls are easier to track than deer." He sips his coffee. "So.. we keep an eye out and walk the area. May want to include a few listening halts. Something I learned from the grunts."

Morrigan pulls into the parking lot of Gray Pond, apparently the others haven't gotten there yet. "Yeah, just walk the area, try to see if there's anything else going on." she admits. "I can radio that over to the one in charge. I'm just here because we were short." she admits.

Devlin nods, "Idea with a listening halt is to get used to the sounds in the area so when something is out of place you hear it more clearly." He then gets out of the truck, coffee still in hand. "Red lens flashlights? Would kill for some night vision..."

"Gotcha." Morrigan states as she hops out of the truck and puts her jacket on. "Think we'll head down by the pond first. Should be easier from there." she admits. "Sadly no night vision. Can't get the funding for it." she laughs.

Devlin nods, "Sounds carry over water better." he walks with you, "Money.. the root of all problems." He smirks a bit as he does pull out a military elbow head flash light that does have a red lens. "I do buy things, but even decent night vision is out of my league. And I'd get in trouble for eh.. borrowing from my unit. Assuming I could get into the equipment vault."

Morrigan gives a smile to him and there's a shake of her head, "No sense in getting in trouble for 'borrowing' things. Just helping out here is good." she admits. Then it's time to start walking, trying to figure out if they can find the girls.

Devlin and Morrigan both hear the slight sound of water splashing. Then there's a short shape running their way. "Help!" a tiny voice states.

His head turns towards the sound and the red lensed flashlight comes on pointing towards the voice. He breaks into a careful slow trot. "Help is coming, see the light in my hand?" Devlin calls out. "We are coming to you as quick as we can."

They aren't that far from the water and that's a good thing, "Devlin, if you can grab her and make sure she is safe." Morrigan tells him. She's yanking off her jacket as she heads for the water and the nearer they get, the more they can hear the struggling sounds of someone in the water. The redhead evaluates real quick and then jumps in.

"Got you covered." He moves to get to the little girl they can see and moves to get ahold of her. "I'm here to help." He also grabs his phone to hit the search party contact number to dial. "I'm almost there sweatie"

Morrigan leaves Devlin to his gathering up of the girl that was not in the water. She has the initial shock of cold to get through, but soon she's gliding through the water and closer to the girl that somehow managed to get herself stuck out here. "It's alright." Morrigan tells her as she swims close. She finally gets hands on her and realizes that her foot is caught on something underneath the water. So Morrigan takes a breath and then dives down to see what it is.

Devlin gets the other girl in hand, "It's ok honey.. Morrigan is great at helping people in the water. She's the best." He then starts communicating facts over the phone to the leader of the search effort. "Found them both. One on land other in the water at Grey's Pond. SAR Morrigan is in the water getting her. We need EMS for possible hypothermia. I have red light in hand." He passes the elbow light to the little girl, "Say.. want to help me out, just swing that around us like a police light, ok?" Yup, the ol'e give them something to do bit.

Morrigan's not sure if it's a stick that has the girl...or if that's a gnarled hand. Either way, it is no time to freak out. She grabs the object and shakes it off the girls leg. That releases her and Morrigan surfaces with a blown out breath and gets the little girl close to her before she starts to swim for shore, "We got you, sweetie, just need to get you out of the water and then we'll get you something warm to curl up in." she tells her.

It may be a few minutes before people get here. Devlin smiles to girl with the light, "I'm Devlin. What is your name? And yes.. keep swinging the light just like your doing, perfect." As Morrigan brings the other one over, Devlin sets the girl down, "Yes, keep waving the light like your doing. I'm going to help your sister keep warm.. that water is cold." He removes his leather jacket, so it will be ready to wrap a shivering girl in.

Morrigan manages to put the little girl on the bank and then she's finding her own way up. When she feels something grip her ankle there's a shake, just thinking it's a vine or something. The kicking is enough to make it let go. She flops herself onto the ground and there's a moment taken to breathe for a moment. Then she can hear Devlin and there's a look of relief, "Let's get these girls up to the truck, we can get blankets out up there." she tells him as she gets the girl all wrapped up in his jacket.

Devlin passes his coat to Morrian, "Just wrap up with the two of you." He then picks up the other girl who is still swinging the red lensed light about. "Lets go to a nice warm truck and blankets.. ok?" He then smiles to Morrigan, nothing said for now, just walking with her and getting to the truck.

Morrigan gives him a thankful look when he helps get the girls back to the truck. She helps get the blankets out and then she's wrapping them up, "So the police are going to be hear in a few minutes and then they'll take you to the hospital just to get checked out. Your parents will be there as well." she tells them gently.

Devlin also makes sure that Morrigan gets wrapped in a blanket, "You need to stay warm too. Oh Mermaidish one.. your coffee is in the console." He teases a little. To the girls, "Adventures can get scary, can't they?" He tries being subtle in getting a little bit of the story from them.

Morrigan gives a smile to Devlin and there's a nod to him, "Yeah, maybe I should have thought better before diving in. Soon, they can see lights coming towards them. The girls look to Devlin, "We were hiding from the monster, but Mallory fell in the water." the older one tells him. The younger who is wrapped up says nothing for the moment.

Devlin nods he kneels to her level, "oouuhh.. a Monster.. man.. those scare me too. Can you tell us about the monster? I want to make sure I can spot the monster.. to help other children stay safe." He keeps his tone friendly and light hearted. "But we may be able to find the monster with your help.. and that is something I am good at."

Morrigan gives a look to Devlin, "How about we leave monsters for another time. They are probably going to want to take them to get checked out...and I can guess if there is a monster...I'll know where to find it." she tells him.

And soon enough the police and other EMT's are swarming, taking the little girls and making sure they are okay. Then they are off to the hospital.

There is a slight look of disappointment for the Combat Medic, after all he did run with the Big Dogs for a long time. He takes a breath, "Ok.." He then does a minor double take, "Oh? ok.." Devlin nods, "We need to get you cleaned up and dried out.. no need for you to freeze either."

Morrigan gently pokes Devlin in the side, "You'll be fine." she tells him. Then she's pointing to her ankle, where there's blood starting to well up from scratches there, "I think it's in the water...whatever it is." she tells him. "But...there's too many people around." she frowns. "And yes, getting dry and getting some hot chocolate sounds nice. You up for that?" she asks him.

Devlin nods and frowns.. "Something in the water.. crap. Ok. How does the ankle feel? and where is the kit on your truck, I'm cleaning and bandaging that before we move forward."

"Just some water monster that likes kids I'm guessing. Or something that doesn't understand what is good to do and what is not to do." Morrigan tells him. "Either way, not going in at night." she points out. "The kit is in the back, just under the passenger seat." she tells him.

Devlin gets the first aide kit and starts looking over your ankle. "Yeah, I like seeing where something is coming from myself. Add the water.. in a public place.. spells trouble.."

<FS3> Devlin rolls Medicine: Success (7 5 5 4 1 1) (Rolled by: Devlin)

Morrigan gives a look to him and there's a chuckle, "Sometimes stuff has been around longer than the town. And it could have killed her I'm guessing and it didn't. Maybe it'll be gone by tomorrow." she admits. "Don't know what to do with it really." she adds.

Devlin frowns a bit, "This looks like an infection begging to happen." He ponders as he puts bandage over it. "I do want to look at it, though going to hospital would not be a bad idea really. Your call as to where we go." there is concern in his voice as he speaks. "I guess we have to find out sooner than later about the pond. Wierd town is right.. " He looks up to you, "I may be able to do something that is not by the book for you ankle though.. something you might think of weird.. goes with the town.. again, your call."

<FS3> Morrigan rolls Spirit: Success (8 7 4) (Rolled by: Morrigan)

Morrigan gives a look to him, "I trust you, if you want to try some of that weird healing powers. I'm guessing that might be what you're talking on?" she asks him. "Because...I'm kinda tired." she chuckles. "Maybe it's best to head back to one of our places?" she asks quietly.

Devlin nods, "I hope you have a comfortable couch." He slides an arm around you after standing, "Shall I drive? then.." clearly assuming your place and where he will be.

"My couch is super comfortable. It also pulls out to a bed." Morrigan tells him with a chuckle. Then there's a bit of a squint, "No one drives my truck unless I'm dead." she teases him. "I'll make an exception for you though." she tells him as she climbs into the passenger side and then lets him get into the drivers seat.

Devlin nods, "Thank you, I'll treat her right.. and not drive like Sutton does." It is clear he is learning the town though, as he gets to your home with the best rout even with the quick stop where his Rubicon is parked so he can grab a small go bag.

"Did you just assume my cars gender?" Morrigan chuckles as she drags the cover around her. "That was a joke. Please don't murder me for it." she muses. She manages to get out of the truck and up to the door alright and then there's a dog to contend with, "Hey baby, I know...I know...give us five seconds." she laughs as she holds the bulldog for Devlin to get in.

Devlin teases, "If I were German.. might have called it him.." He chuckles as he enters. "I think I will need to make a friend. Any suggestions? And what can I do to help? Besides weird stuff.. wanted to do that in good light. Still figuring this out.. may have to go chat with Doc Kosimar about this this stuff."

"On making a friend? Do you have a slice of pizza to throw at him?" Morrigan chuckles as she gets inside. The door is closed when he's in. Bruce just gives a happy wiggle of his butt and then he trots back to the couch and goes to sleep. "I'm going to go take a shower, please make yourself at home and I'll get some hot chocolate made after that." she tells him.

Devlin nods, "Pizza?" He hmms, "Ok.. not what I would expect of a dog." Devlin moves over to the couch, "Hi there.." He offers his hand, "Mind if I join you?" Most likely going to happen but never hurts to be nice even with animals.
