2020-02-08 - The world should tremble

It had been a few days since Nicole talked to Sparrow via text about boys, life, and other things. Her friend is probably somewhere in Arizona now... and Nicole, Nicole is in her trailer, watching the icy rain fall out her window while she sips a cup of cocoa. Some days, some weather, just requires cocoa. Feet tucked up beneath her on her cozy but small couch, she is in no hurry to move or do anything else.

Until, that is, a man walks along her walkway to her door. He knocks, then sets down a package before walking away.

It's Gray Harbor, and she KNOWS she did not order anything, so she sits there for a fair bit, staring at her door as if waiting for it to explode.

It doesn't.

With a deep breath, Nicole finally unfolds her long legs to rise up, setting her cup on the island counter leading to her kitchenette and opens the door, rescuing the brown box from the wet outside. Setting it on the counter near her cup, she rummages through a drawer until she finds a pair of utility scissors and begins working to open the box.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX???

Atop some packing paper is a note.

Holding the note between finger and thumb, Nicole smiles, shaking her head as she sets it aside. Packing paper removed, Nicole takes out a plastic bag (because everything comes wrapped in plastic) and opens it up, finally shaking out a pair of black leather pants.

"That minx."

She draws the blinds then discards the fleece pajama bottoms she had been lazing in so that she can try the Bad Ass pants on. It's not until after she admires herself in the mirror that she sits down to snap a pic of just her legs. And then....

(TXT to Joey) Nicole : Do you have any heart conditions I should know about? How's your insurance?

(TXT to Joey) Nicole : I got a present.

(TXT to Nicole) Joey : What insurance!?

(TXT to Nicole) Joey : Definiately contracting a heart condition and a pants condition. Well done.
