(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Sorry about your casino. 🙁

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : (There's some delay between when Byron receives the message and when he responds. Perhaps receiving information from elsewhere) Where are you?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Police station. Many cops.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Rumor has it that you were there. What happened? I'm heading down to check the damage.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Unless the police need me at the station.

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : They'll probably want your film of the parking lot. If it's not damaged. It might be damaged. Sometimes it's damaged.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : I'll look into that. Obtaining the film.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Now what happened?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Looks like someone tried to hit Monaghan.

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Betting the same people who killed the Chief. If I had to bet.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : I'd ask if anyone was killed, but I'm told that there are casualties. And since you said tried to hit Monaghan, I'll assume that he's still alive.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Did they find out who are doing these hits? I go away for vacation for a week and there's still chaos.

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Yeah. One of his guys went down, but he's alive. The Interim Chief was first on the scene, and he got hit in the leg. I got taken hostage. That wasn't great fun.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : de la Vega alright? Despite being shot?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : (...)

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : I don't think he was badly injured.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : After checking into the casino, I might stop by the station.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Are you alright?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : No. I got taken hostage and...well. It may be a problem that I'm still alive. But I'll handle that, one way or the other. And I got a little shot. Be careful. There's a new cartel in town, and they're bold and ruthless; I suspect they're gonna put pressure on business owners.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : That's just lovely. Thanks for the heads up. Will probably double down on security for both the casino and apartment building. A problem how and with who? Are you expecting a revenge hit?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : That's a good idea. And not revenge. I don't think. But I think I'm a loose end for a person who doesn't like loose ends. It's irritating.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Ahh. Good point. If you're that worried, we could reach out to him or his reps. Make sure that things are cleared. I'll need to check in with all of my guests regardless.

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : I'd rather you weren't involved more than you have to be. You have enough to deal with. You okay? I didn't ask after the funeral. I should have. I'm sorry.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : I'm not trying to involve myself, but he is a guest. And I'm fine. It basically sucks to return back to messes like this, but it's what I expected before I even left on vacation. I didn't realize the gravity of the situation regarding Thatchery's murder.

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Neither did I. It's probably going to get worse before it gets better. These assholes have pissed off the cops, honest and otherwise, and Monaghan. They either have to win or die.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : The fires and other outbreaks around town. That's them too?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Maybe. Some of them. I've managed to chart a map of a group testing response times for crimes. The fire...might be corrupt cops. One has ties to Monaghan, but the circumstances don't quite fit his MO. Dunno if he's working a side hustle, or if he's been flipped.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Which cop is this?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Guy named Liu. Harvey Liu. Actually has a gambling issue. He might have debts at the casino. If he does have ambitions and is throwing his weight around...keep an eye out, okay?

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Liu. Noted. I suppose de la Vega already knows about this guy?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Probably.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : You and de la Vega. Who else was there? Monaghan, I figure.

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : Yeah. Monaghan. Kelly. Stewart. The big cheerful guy. He died.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : Andre, I believe? That's too bad. How many would-be assassins were there? How many escaped?

(TXT to Byron) Alexander : No one escaped. I think there were three...wait, four. I think the cops found a dead guy in the van.

(TXT to Alexander) Byron : I'm almost at the casino, so I'll be preoccupied with the aftermath of everything. Thanks for the information. Glad that you came out of that alive along with everyone else. I'll be dropping by when I can, to check in on you and Isabella.
