Devlin is hanging loose at a booth in Civies as a pair of EMT's get up from the table to leave. "Take care guys, I got the check." He then motions to the waitress to top off his coffee. As she comes over, "Thank you."

The lunch special has caught Turner's attention today, as a home cooked meal just seems like too much effort. Long hair pulled back, heavily freckled cheeks red from being out in the cold. He's dressed for the weather, though he pauses inside to strip off his coat, leaving him dressed like, well, a librarian. Oversize cardigan, a dress shirt, slacks, nice shoes, and a pair of bright red knit gloves that he also removes. He hesitates for a second as he gets his bearings, looking a little anxious despite being a local AND eating here frequently enough. He hesitates for a second, then heads up to the bar to sit, taking the messenger bag off and leaving it at his feet.

When haunted by your own thoughts, go for a run. At least that's Jonathan's philosophy these days. He steps in, dressed in workout clothing, and looking like he's been out for a while. He pauses just inside the door, before moving to find himself over in the general direction of the bar as well, steps rather slow for now.

Devlin's head turns to the side as he hears the door open before the uniformed EMT's head out. His coffee refilled as he looks, he gives Turner and Jonathan a polite smiles. He then picks up a menu to ponder what to order for himself besides the coffee.

There's a little duck of his head, but Turner smiles back, turning to share the smile with Jonathan, too. He looks through the menu, just in case anything's changed on it, but sees it hasn't since his last visit. Shifting, he fidgets with the menu a little, still smiling, friendly but quiet.

Jonathan offers polite nods to both of the other two, glancing to the menu for a few moments as well. "A fine day, isn't it?" he offers to them, with a bit of a smile, as he moves to find a seat.

Just as Devlin is about to respond, a large group of students come in. Being the one guy in a booth, he looks to the Waitress, "I'll move to the bar so they can have the table." He then relocates himself and coffee to the bar, "Yeah, been a good one so far. I haven't had to argue with Darwin today.. so fine indeed." He then settles on a stool at the bar with his hat set to one side of his mug.

"I suppose that depends on your definition of 'fine'... but it's not blizzard weather at the moment, so I'll take it." Turner smiles a bit brighter, though he's still fidgeting with the menu. When the waitress asks his drink, he orders whatever cola they have on hand... like he needs the caffeine. "Argue with Darwin?"

Ordering himself some of the more healthy food and drink, Jonathan smiles, "Not a blizzard is quite nice," he offers to Turner, before he raises an eyebrow at Devlin. "Darwin?" he asks, looking a bit unsure of the answer.

A bit of a chuckle from Devlin is his initial reaction as the waitress says to him, "Behave you.." her tone is teasing towards Devlin. He smiles as he does reply after taking a sip of his coffee. "I'm a paramedic. And to explain about Darwin and I.. it's saving people from earning a Darwin Award." He smiles again and chuckles, "You'd be amazed at some of the calls I have had to respond too."

Looking at Devlin as if from over the rim of non-existent glasses, Turner smiles. "I'm a librarian. I see the search histories of people who use our computers. I would be slightly less amazed than you might think. Some of the questions they ask Google, I'm amazed they're alive... and able to walk to the library."

Jonathan grins, "Never underestimate the power of stupidity, right? I've had a few teammates who could have won some of those awards back in the days." He smiles as he looks between the others. "Maybe even knowing that there is such a thing as a library is a surprise for some of them."

Devlin nods, "True. I see more stupid state side than I did in all of my four tours over seas. Mind you, this is coming from a guy that used to jump out of perfectly good aircraft while in flight to treat someone else's injuries in combat." He takes a sip of his coffee and then orders, "I'll have the Western Omelet, an order of waffles, and keep the coffee coming please." He then hmms, "Mind you.. I did see a lot of stupid over seas, just combat related.. though one of corollaries of Murphy's Law, if it looks stupid but it works.. it ain't stupid."

"I do think it's a surprise for some." Turner confirms. He listens to Devlin with a thoughtful expression, then nods. "I hope you're not still jumping out of moving vehicles to treat the injured, it seems like it's easier if you don't end up needing an EMT, too."

Nodding a little thoughtfully, Jonathan grins. "Some of what looks a bit stupid probably wasn't intentionally stupid," he offers, after a few moments. "Sometimes, it's just bad luck, isn't it?"

Devlin nods over a sip of coffee. "Teammates? College?" He inquires of Jonathan. His rather unhealthy meal is brought over to him. "I can imagine some of the searches at a library computer would have a lot of attempts at x rated.." He smirks a bit as if thinking about something from his past.

"Could I get an order of waffles, eggs, sunny side up, and a side of bacon?" Turner asks the waitress softly, before taking a sip of his drink and smiling. "Thank you."

"It's mildly alarming the number of attempts to get through our filters... on publicly visible computers." he's slightly reddening, now, talking about it. "And not just teenagers." he shakes his head, but smiles, still fidgeting with his menu, even though he already ordered.

Jonathan nods momnetarily. "College too, yes. Then a few years in the pros, before I found myself face down on the ice, brains scrambled, " he replies, before he nods at Turner's words. "Somehow, that doesn't surprise me," he replies, after a few moments.

Devlin nods, "I can imagine what people would try even knowing there are filters." He takes a few bites. "Scrambled brains.. rules out curling. So Hockey for a guess?" He sips on his coffee. "I've got a few soldiers that I would expect them to attempt such searches."

There's a sympathetic wince from Turner at Jonathan's description of his injuries, "I'm so sorry, that sounds awful..."

"Good guess," Jonathan replies to Devlin, offering him a bit of a grin. "I think the one thing that I regretted the most about it is that my family was attending the game, since they could go from here and up to Vancouver. Aside from that, the worst part was trying to recover. That felt a bit like going one step forward and two steps back."
