(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Did you and Seth get back from wherever okay?

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Yeah, we're completely unscathed. And we didn't do anything rash while we were there, other than buy an engagement ring.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I saw the ring. Congratulations on your perhaps fictional engagement.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Hah! Thanks. I think...it might be not totally fictional. I don't know. If I think about it too hard I begin contemplating fleeing to Tahiti.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Fleeing Gray Harbor is always the right decision. Although you should take Seth with you. Tahiti wedding would probably be nice. 🙂

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : I have a feeling Gray Harbor would find a way to follow us, or bring us back. I think we all learn that eventually. It's still better than Spokane. 😉

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : You can't see it, but I have a dubious face. But also a new office.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : A new office? Did you have an old office? Has Alexander Clayton become a real PI?

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I did not have an office. But now I do. I am still not licensed.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : You know I probably know people who know people who can get that fixed for you.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : That would be wrong. But thank you for offering. 🙂

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Are we still doing that whole right and wrong thing? In this town? Gray is even in the NAME, Alexander.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Yes. I am, anyway.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : All right. But if you every change your mind, you know where to find me. Usually at Seth's now it seems, since that whole missing three months thing.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I will. But what about your house? You were repairing it. Did the storm damage it? Mine flooded.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Nope, apparently we finished the remodel during those three months. Most of it at least. I think the bedrooms still need to be done. Which is probably why I'm staying with Seth.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Makes sense. How's your dad?

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : He's doing great. He might come over here for Christmas, though I'd rather he didn't for obvious reasons. As long as it's just a few days though, I think we can manage it since we missed Thanksgiving with him this time around. I'm sure he'll want to see you.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I'm glad you've reconnected with him. He's a good guy. I will take him out to coffee, and we probably won't get ambushed by elves or something.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : God I hope not. I know he'd forget it again when he got back to Portland but I just don't want him traumatized even temporarily. How are you doing after the whole time lapse thing?

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I don't know. Everything is...even before the missing time for most people, I think I was gone somewhere. But I don't remember where. Apparently I came back during the missing time. I'm trying to retrace my steps. But I didn't take good notes. You?

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : It looks like I just did normal stuff, nothing exciting. Which I guess is good? It feels like one of those fairy stories, where like we must have been over There, and changelings were put in our place, or something. Doesn't it?

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I don't think we were replaced. I hope not. I don't want to be replaced.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : I just have a hard time believing no shit blew up for me in three months in this town. That seems way more unlikely. How sad is that?

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I think a replacement would fuck things up, either deliberately or accidentally.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Depends on who sent it I guess. If we were needed over There for some big todo it might have been bargained to maintain us here? Or something? I need to stop watching bad SyFy movies.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I hate thinking about it. But I hate not knowing. Lot of hate.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Yeah, the not knowing drives me crazy. I admit I'm a control freak. It's a 'how I keep alive' thing.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Yes. Same.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Having been a cop, undercover in narcotics, you have to have as much control of everything you can, because there will be so much you have zero control of. So it's just ingrained in me at this point. How is Isabella, your bird, did you have a cat too?

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Isabella is in Alexandria, on her dive for parts of the Library. I think she's okay. Luigi and Bluebell are good.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Diving for a library? Wouldn't the books be all soggy and destroyed?

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : THE Library. Of Alexandria. And scrolls would be destroyed, but there are still pieces of architecture, sculptures, engraved art pieces.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Oh, yeah that makes a lot more sense. What an interesting job she has.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Yes. She's very good at it. If she doesn't come back here, she'll make great discoveries.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Isn't it sad, how we're all hoping our loved ones don't come here? My dad, your girlfriend? That this place is so bad, we'd rather go without their presence to protect them?

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : It's very sad. And you can't stop someone from doing what they're determined to do. But I want her to be safe. And your dad. He's nice.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : My dad is the best, agreed. Have you talked to de la Vega at all? How's he taking this bullshit with having to step down as Chief? I haven't asked him because he won't want to hear concern from me.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : He hired me to look into it. Have you heard anything from your circles about trying to oust him?

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Nothing. I don't think it's coming from our people or I'm pretty sure Joey would have had a fit over it. He and Javier are friends. Sort of. As much as those two could ever be.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Yeah. I figured it would come differently if it was from that direction. Had to ask. Maybe it's internal; a lot of cops can't be happy with how certain things went down.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Or Reyes is pulling strings from prison. We found some of his people working with the Serbians trafficking through here. They won't be doing that anymore. Javier showed up where we did so maybe that triggered something.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : Maybe. I'll poke at it, see what bites.

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Let me know if I can help. He and I may be frenemies but I'd rather have him in charge than an unknown who might be working for Them.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I will. I might get stonewalled by the cops and have to look at the files myself. You still haven't taught me to pick locks. :angry face emoji:

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : Are you sure I didn't during those missing 3 months? 😉

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : :angry face emoji: That wouldn't count! :key emoji:

(TXT to Alexander) Vic : We'll get together soon for some lessons. For now, I got to go get ready for work. Talk to you soon? Text me if you need help.

(TXT to Vic) Alexander : I will. Don't die.
