The Volkswagon camper van that belongs to Kailey is parked in the garage. Especially during the winter. It means Maya is warm and easily accessible from the house. No exposure to the weather outside. It is an hour or so after the two had returned from an adventure as Sims. When they had first returned Kailey had looks at Maya, smiling warmly, and then headed into the house. "I need a shower, maybe a beer, then I'll come find you," She had said. And indeed that seems to be what she had done.

The door that leads into the house opens and Kailey comes out. Balancing on one hand is a tray with her teapot, two cups, and a plate of Girl Scout cookies. Looks like Thin Mints and Trefoils. Closing the door behind her she heads towards the van's sliding door and lightly taps on it. "Maya?" She calls softly. "You awake?"

Maya met Kailey's smiles with one of her own, a strain of recently taxed emotions still plain, and she nods to Kailey as she grabs a change of clothes and disappears into the van while Kailey gets cleaned up. "I need to get comfortable, myself. I'll be in the garage," she says as they separate.

As Kailey approaches the van, she can hear the soft tones of an acoustic guitar, a soft folk song of Maya's own composition, and her voice wavering out the lyrics, indistinct and muffled within the van. It's a song Maya often plays but so far never for an audience, just a song Kailey would hear if she ever wandered into the garage at just the right time.

The playing stops suddenly as Kailey knocks and there's a few moments and rustling before the door slides open, Maya smiles softly at Kailey. "Of course! You said you'd come so I..." She shrugs as she trails off, reaching to take the tray so Kailey can more easily climb inside.

It might be Kailey's van but Maya has set up a cozy sleeping area, her acoustic guitar resting in a corner where it's strapped down. "I know I said it when we were there but I'm sorry about what I... I don't know what came over me."

Kailey had paused. Listening to the song and Maya singing as a smile crossed her lips. A brightness in her eyes and letting her sing just that much longer. Till she knocked. "You have nothing to apologize. That's what Dreams do. They often force us to experience emotions we've been ignoring or not realizing or hiding. The beings on that side eat it or use it or something. I'm not sure," Kailey explains as she climbs into the van, closes the door, and takes the tray back.

Setting it down on the counter she pours two cups and passes Maya one. "You have a beautiful voice, by the way," She says, hesitating on sitting back beside Maya on the bench seat. "I want to kiss you," Is added softly. There's only the faintest of reddening of her cheeks now. "The Veil and Dreams generally make us see things we didn't before...sometimes they are bad. Sometimes...very good."

"I'm just not used to losing myself like that," Maya says with a small shrug. "I don't like letting them use me but I guess that's just how things are here." She takes the offered cup and she sips after blowing across the surface for a few moments.

The compliment comes and her cheeks turn pink. "You heard that did you? I want the song to be perfect but it's... Not quite there yet." She says, looking over to Kailey. The surprise in her expression is palpable at what comes next, her cheeks burn red and she takes a few deep breaths. She doesn't say anything, words escape her and she just stares for a few moments, her heart pounding in her chest before she decides to just... Go for it, as if the chance might disappear at any moment. She slides close, meeting Kaileys gaze as she moves in to give the kiss that she also burned inside for.

Words can come after but now? She wants to lose herself to that moment.

Kailey keeps her gaze locked with Maya's. There is an eagerness there but also warmth and affection to go with her slight smile. "I'd say you've nearly got it then. Seemed pretty perfect to me. Kinda like you," She says. The teacup is set aside quickly as she leans towards Maya in kind. Yes they were supposed to talk. But it might be easier once a desire that has been building for months is at least partially satiated. Maybe.

Her eyes close and she leans in to that kiss. One hand moving to play with Maya's hair. Running her fingers back through the locks onto to rest the hand on her shoulder, twirling locks about her fingers. The kiss is gentle and yet sweet, gently probing and testing on Kailey's end. Inviting as well as her lips part briefly, tongue teasing across a lower lip. Until, after a goodly minute or two, she leans back to once more meet Maya's eyes.

"The Veil also tends to bring people together in good ways," Kailey murmurs as her eyes flicker about Maya's face. Taking in the blush and the color of her eyes and all those little details. "I need to talk to Everett still...but I'd like to pursue this. The stars above know how many times I've thought about it. But I didn't know...didn't want to scare you off or make you uncomfortable. And there was the shadow of Rachel too..." She says before biting her lower lip and looking at Maya hopefully, her hand sliding from the woman's hair to reach for and squeeze her hand.

"I-I mean, it's just needs a little...-" whatever Maya is about to say is lost when their lips finally touch, that moment that had been building up for months at the very least finally coming to fruition. A soft sigh, along with an audible moan, is given as her eyes close and she leans close, pressing into Kailey while her hand reaches up to gently caress the back of her head, stroking through her hair. The kiss is as heated as one would expect after so much build up, but also sweet and uncertain, responding to the probes and tests rather than pushing forward herself, her tongue lashing out after some bit of encouragement while Maya lets that moment last as long as she can, breathless as they separate and her eyes open again to meet Kailey's gaze.

Her cheeks are pink and she seems breathless as she giggles with a rush of giddiness, her gaze averting for only a moment before locking eyes once again. "I've never known the veil to work like that, but in some ways I suppose the whole reason we are as close as we are is because of all the weird stuff that happened when we first met?" she suggests uncertainly. "Of course what was I going to do? Just leave you to fend for yourself? I was tired, my feet hurt and all I wanted to do was go home and forget everything, but I knew you needed help and I just... had to. And then all that other stuff happened and... I needed your help, and now I have the first true home I had since she disappeared."

She squeezes Kailey's hand in return, giving her a nod, her smile turning melancholy for a few moments as she reminisces a bit. "She's been gone for almost three years. I don't want to give up on her, and I still won't, but right now? Well I was thinking and if the situation were reversed and I learned that Rachel had a chance at real happiness that she threw away because she was hoping against hope that I was still out there somewhere, even if I was? I would have wanted her to take that happiness and move on. I wouldn't want her to give up on me but I would want her to prepare herself for that possibility and... learn to love again," she bites her lip and she looks at Kailey. "I'm not giving up on Rachel, and if I find her we can figure out what that will mean about us. Maybe it will just mean our family gets a little bit bigger? I can't say for sure but... I want to pursue this too. Whatever this winds up being I don't want to spend my life wondering what could have been if I had just been willing to live for myself. I never knew before that a family could look like yours, all I know now is I want to be a part of it. I wouldn't worry about the shadow of Rachel if I were you anyway... she was my best friend, my everything. My first kiss, my first lover. You will never be her, but she will never be you. You are not better or worse you are both women that occupy such a special place in my heart... gods I hope Ev says he's okay with this. I can't imagine things going back to normal after all this... I don't want to go back to normal after this."

Kailey's hands lift to stroke Maya's cheek when she blushes. Smiling happily and nodding encouragement to her words. Her own vague sense of melancholy matching hers as Rachel is brought up. "I will help you find her. You're getting stronger in being able to protect yourself against the Dreams. And if Rachel has been holding out hope for you, I won't stand in the way. I just hope she'll share you," Kailey says with a slightly wider smile. "But I think I need to introduce you properly to Ravn. He's the guy who runs the Hope center...and if we're being honest right now I have a HUGE crush on him too," Now it is Kailey's turn to blush, looking at her hands which have gone to clasp Maya's own.

"You already are part of the family. You've been here since the kids came into this world. They know you almost as closely as any of their parents...and Everett wants more. So I can probably convince him we need to extend the house, build a couple rooms over the garage," Kailey says after catching hold of her own embarassment. "I don't think Ev will have a problem," She says while smirking. "Typical guy, that's him. But you know he's a big ol' softy when it comes to the family." There is a pause. And in that pause she leans in close again.

Resting her brow upon Maya's she nuzzles her nose against Maya's, eyes half-closed. Kailey sighs happily and says gently, "For tonight, though, how do you feel about sleeping with me? I think we both could use someone to hold and it's Bean's night with Ev." Then, then she sneaks in a little peck of a kiss. "We can kiss and cuddle, but until I talk to Ev that's it. I'll talk to him in the morning." It is late after all and Kailey had heard the deep rumbling snores of the giant while taking her shower.

Maya's gaze maintains just that little bit of determination. "I know you will, you're absolutely amazing and when I'm with you I feel like I can do anything. When we find Rachel, I'll give her some time and I think she'll come around. She always wondered what it would be like to have a boyfriend so it'd be a perfect chance for her to explore and experience the things we didn't do before. We'll conquer that question when we get there," she grins a bit as she bites her lip. "Ravn? Does he look like that in the real world too? I will apologize ahead of time, Rachel also had to learn that I just couldn't see what she saw in guys," she squeezes Kailey's hands. "But I'll wingwoman for you anytime you need," she adds with a little wink.

"I mean I know I'm part of the family already. I love the kids, I would do anything for them and I'm sure you know that! I'll be as fierce in protecting them as any of their mamas. I just mean, to really be part of the family. To make this a bit more... permanent. At least officially. After all I've been through with you I really wasn't planning on ever going anywhere, even if I thought there was absolutely no way you'd be interested in being anything more than friends," she smiles, lets the distance between them close and feeling her heat against her skin. "You know, I don't want to rush into anything but I always did want to have a kid of my own... if it wouldn't be too terrible to add even more chaos to this wonderful perfect house." A bit of a smirk is shot to Kailey.

That small snuggle as they come close together brings another happy sigh to Maya, her eyes closing a bit as she cuddles into Kailey's side. "I don't know if you know what it's like to just feel this after so long... I practically jumped out of my skin in excitement when you slid a bit close while we were watching Netflix," she says. It's the other question that causes her to light up like a Christmas tree before realization sinks in and she just sputters. "O-oh! Sleep! Sleeping and cuddling yes yes that! That sounds great!" she calms, kissing Kailey with a gentle smile. "No that's... that's fine, that's more than fine. Cuddling with you all night is my everything right now, it's perfect," she cuddles into Kailey's side as she says this, sipping the tea that she seemed to just realize she's still holding. "When did you realize you liked me in that way?" Maya finally wonders.

"You're pretty amazing too," Kqiley murmers in response. But lets Maya say her piece. Then chuckles and looks down and at her cup. "Well...he looks...better. We all do. You especially," She adds with a wink. Before clearing her throat and sipping tea. "And thanks...though with Ravn I am sure it's a lost cause."

The tea gets another sip and then she coughs in surprise. "Really? You do?" Kailey seems surprised but pleasantly so. "We can explore that. You were gone the week the Veil turned me into a guy...oh the things I wanted to do but didn't get the chance..."

They snuggle closer. Kailey is quiet and thoughtful, but still smiling. "Physical touch and comfort is so important for us," She says as she strokes Maya's cheek again with the back of her hand. The smell of her lavender and vanilla soap heavy this close. "When? Hmmmm...I..." Her forehead wrinkles as she searches her memory.

"I think...it was right around the time we all lost those three months of time. But I remember this clearly, us and Mo and Quinten at the park. We pushed the kids on the swings, went down the slide, had a right proper picnic," She says as her smile goes lopsided at the memory. "Quinten kept trying to eat the grass, and you and I would just reach out and put a strawberry or carrot stick in his hand instead. Half of them ended up in the grass, but he didn't eat any actual grass. And Morganna kept pointing at things, asking what they were. We then took three rides on the carousel before the tots were satisfied. And I just remember looking at you, on the carousel animal you chose, with Mo. It was...happy-making." She finishes speaking, sips her tea, and raises a brow at Maya. "Et tu?"

"Your hair was all wrong in there," Maya points out as she reaches for a few of those brightly colored strands, letting them fall through her fingers. "I've always loved your hair, it was one of the first things I ever noticed about you... Why I wanted to talk to you about your art rather than just politely watch from a distance," she smiles, letting Kailey's hair go and just letting her hand loop through her arm and take her hand. The next also makes Maya cough in surprise while she tries to sip her tea. "We can explore that? Like... are you saying there's some way we might be able to make my baby... also yours?" she raises her eyebrow slightly. "If you're ever a guy again I just might take you up on that..." she laughs.

They snuggle closer, the scent of the lavender and vanilla soap blending with the heady smell of Maya's sweet pea perfume, she listens and the story that she tells and curls up closer, tucking her feet up under herself. "That was a good day," Maya smiles. "Morganna was such a good girl, and just being there with you, feeling like a real family especially in that moment. Knowing that I would do absolutely anything for these kids, that's what it feels like to be a mother, doesn't it?" she looks sidelong to Kailey. "We should have another picnic. Just us, the kids, do it all over again, except this time make it a proper date. It'll be like last time but with more hand holding and kisses!"

"It was just the two of us, Ev and Bean had the kids and we decided to spend the whole night together just watching Netflix on the couch. We had snacks, pulled up a blanket when it got cold. At some point in the night you just fell asleep right on my shoulder and then I spent... however long that was? I don't even remember what we were watching because all I could focus on was not moving and waking you up. Eventually I fell asleep and we just both slept on the couch until everyone got home and we woke up and... we never talked about it," she giggles nervously. "It was nice. It reminded me of earlier times, and made me feel like... I could be happy again. Being here has been the happiest I've been in years."

Kailey nodded and said, "In this place? Who knows." Then sipped her tea some more. Before settling it back on the counter. "Mmmmm, yeah I remember. I was beat after running after toddlers all day, but in a good way. I just remembered watching you be so happy with the kids and wishing I could make it better," She says with a little sigh. A smile flutters across her face and she rests her head comfortably against Maya's. "Yeah...that's what being a mom is like. And I am totally down for a proper date, picnic and kids and all. Weather is warming up too."

"We were watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. I wanted to introduce you to my favorite show ever," Kailey says as she fills in the gaps. But I do remember falling asleep...though I wasn't always asleep. I woke up a few times, realized where I was, and just shifted in psuedo-sleep so your arm didn't fall asleep. Cause that was super comfy and awesome. We should do that again, too. We only got halfway through season one, and that isn't even the best season. Soon. Especially if it makes you that happy. Cause I liked it. Lots," Kailey says, tilting her head slightly. Before striking in fast to secure another kiss.

This one is much like the first, but longer. Kailey carefully taking Maya's cup and setting it on the counter with hers while their lips are locked. The better for her hands to go to play with her hair again at least. She wraps her arms around Maya and one hand plays with her hair. Lips exploring lips and tongues exploring tongues.

Maya blushes just a touch and smiles over at Kailey. "Well... maybe after we've given this a bit of time to see how it all feels, maybe we can figure out a way to make that happen... if we can't there's always the old fashioned way of finding a male friend to help out," Maya bites her lip as she seems to just be unable to turn off her thoughts and just lets everything come right out. "Maybe it made sense but I still appreciated it, having you there made it all just a little bit less miserable."

"We really need to watch more of that! I liked it, I just keep getting distracted by you geeking out over everything and being way too adorable," Maya giggles before she's surprised by another kiss, this one taking a moment for her to register before she's closing her eyes and wrapping her arms around Kailey once her hands are freed. One hand sliding up the back of Kailey's head, running through her hair. Her fingers tremble a bit as she lets her hands explore, one hand content to run through Kailey's hair, the other sliding down her back. Maya doesn't rush to end it, she lets her lips part in an invitation, her tongue dancing with Kailey's.

Maya's body responds in kind, goosebumps rising along the back of her neck, pulse racing. Her breath catches and it's all she can do to not gasp between rounds of kisses. She gently lets herself fall back, coaxing Kailey to come down with her as she lies back. She doesn't try to push anything further, but the way her hands sometimes wander a bit it's a clear effort on her part.

"Plenty of male friends to choose from, but that's way down the line. First we kiss and cuddle. Then I talk to Ev. Then we start finding Rachel," She says. Then down into the memory foam softness of the van's lower bed they go. Tea and talk forgotten for exploring the other. Hands rove along Maya's sides. And at first they are just up and down. Then her hips and sides. A soft moan within the kiss signals a shift of pace.

Kailey slides one hand under Maya's shirt. Resting it on her side, thumb stroking the soft skin there. Close, but not yet touching, her breast. Between the kisses Kailey says, "I want more...you're so soft. Beautiful. But I will be good," She lifts a leg to hook it over Maya's, tangling their legs together as she grins.

Maya's hands slide along Kailey's side, she trembles beneath Kailey's touch as her hand slides under her shirt. Maya's hip shifts and she moans softly in an echo of Kailey's, her breath coming in those soft, short gasps before she takes a deep breath, holding it for some moments, craning back under Kailey's touch. "I want you..." Maya moans out between the kisses, more kisses coming, more heated, looping her legs through Kailey's as she slides her hands along Kailey's shirt, teasing at the bare skin exposed at the midsection, pausing then.

"I want more too..." she says with a bit of a whimper. "But not before you talked to Ev... we'll be good" she agrees even as she seems to strain herself with the effort of admitting it.

Kailey groans and growls at those words. But more playfully than anger. "Ugh. You're right. You're soft and sexy and so hot in those PJs and UGH," She gives a soft laugh. "We will behave," She rumbles it like a mantra a few times before giggling. Then she goes to kiss Maya again. Her hand moves around to caress the bare skin of her back instead. Lips resuming their hungry devouring of Maya's own.

"I hate being good," Maya grumbles playfully. "Gonna need you to keep me honest though, because I still wanna, you're so damn gorgeous right now..." she moans softly as she resumes those hungry kisses, letting her fingers explore the bare skin beneath Kailey's shirt as well, resisting that temptation to do something they'd both regret in the morning. "I waited months for this moment... I can wait one more night," she assures her between those kisses, hungry and always wanting more.

"Mmmmmm gonna make him breakfast in the morning. Sweeten him up and ask," Kailey says with a little smirk. She also happens to look mildly devious. "You know what they say...the way to a man's heart is through his stomach," She adds. Before more kissing distracts her.

How much time passes with them making out? Kailey doesn't care. But there is a point where she finally sits up. "Get your slippers and things. Let's go get some more cuddles and sleep. I need to get up bright and early to make sure food is ready before his alarm goes off."
