System Information

Wage Slave: Everly does whatever it takes. Cleans houses, walks dogs, waits tables, tends bar....whatever.
Single Parent: An accident from a one week whirl wind relationship with a summer tourist. Oops.
Let You Buy Her Drinks: Why spend her own money when spending someone else's money is so much better? You want to be seen talking to a girl, buy her a drink. Just don't think that you're entitled to more then the privilege of her sitting in your vicinity. Need someone's shoulder to cry on? She's probably not going to be the sympathetic ear that you're looking for, she might listen. But it's going to cost.
Hitchhike: It's a risk that she's willing to take, even if she's going across town sometimes. A roll of the dice, a chance to see if this might be the time her luck runs out. Is that nice looking lady really something frightening and not so nice? Will that college student offer more then just a car ride out of town?
Buy Your Drugs: You got what she needs. If the price is right, she can party all night long, sometimes even a whole two or three days before she needs to come knocking again.

Most little girls dream of becoming princesses, cowgirls, brides in white fluffy dresses, moms, sometimes doctors or teachers. They dream of the perfect fairy tale life, not of growing up in a family full of uneducated, white trash, violent thugs. But, reality is different then fantasy after all.

Everly's mother is worthless, her father is a son of a bitch, her father's wife is the only real mother figure she's known, and her brother is her idol and her boogeyman. The Kelly family, her father's family, is the worst of the worst, a drain on society and the type of family that people hope would just go away, but are often to scared to do anything about. Some members are worse then others, some are products of the name, and some learn the reputation of the name at their mother's breast and decide to live up to the family tradition. Everly herself is a mixture of the last two, her mother never having been married to her father, never even having been in a relationship with him for longer then it took for her to come into existence, she got stuck with the name and the reputation at birth. But it could have been different, her mother could have given Everly her last name, denied who her father was, ran away so far and fast that Everly's parentage would never have been known. But her mother was worthless, a junkie that was indifferent to the fact that Everly was in for a rough life because of her dad.

It started early on, she watched her mother stumble around, bring home strange man after strange man, openly whoring herself for drugs, rent money, anything that she felt she could get "the easy way". Television became a way to escape from the hell, to hide her head in the sand and cover the sounds of her mother and her latest "boyfriend", and it started a life long obsession for Everly. The girl absorbed everything like a sponge, it didn't matter what it was, she would focus her attention on it so intently that she can recall even the most irrelevant seeming bit of factoid years later. Sadly, being able to remember things like episode 93 of Malcolm in the Middle originally aired on January 4th, 2004 typically doesn't come up on tests in school. Some things she watched would, such as anything she saw that was a documentary, or on the news, but so many things didn't. She'd probably win Jeopardy if she ever got on it, however, and never play her in Trivial Pursuit.

As she got older, school got harder, not because she wasn't smart enough, because she was certainly smart enough. But because everything else became more important, more distracting. Life as a Kelly was more important then attending school some days. Certainly, she had dreams of becoming something more, but the harsh reality was it would never happen. She knows this, and the rage ate away at her, souring her against the very dream that she had. There were so many dreams, too. At fifteen she made a mistake, slept around and ended up getting the wrong kind of reputation, it made high school harder. Until she just embraced it, owned it. Stopped caring.

Maybe that is what left her to find her own way, tooth and nail, making sure that she and her family got what she felt they deserved. She's smarter than most, so she thinks. But she can't be bothered to do anything with it that would change the world, just picks up minimum wage paying jobs, deals drugs sometimes if there is a need for extra cash, pockets things that she's pretty sure no one'll ever miss from a house she might clean for a few months before getting bored and moving on to the next thing she can do without thinking about it. The one thing she's careful about is not bringing the drama in front of her kid, making sure she doesn't repeat her mother's mistakes. As much as she can, at least.

Everly is one of those girls that looks the quintessential girl next door type that could be taken home to the parents, but in reality, somewhere, things went horribly wrong. The looks are still there, that isn't what changed. Light brown hair is medium-length, lightening in the summer months or when she gets the extra cash to get her hair done. The features of her face are soft and rounded, giving her a slightly more youthful appearance, but the stubborn way that her jaw can set itself, or the sardonic lift to her eye brow can ruin the natural inclination of her features towards a slightly younger appearance. But it's the eyes that really are the final nail in the coffin, when she thinks that no one is looking, or is beyond caring if the illusion of nice girl is ripped apart, her hazel eyes are dead, detached from the world in the sharply clinical manner of a scientist cutting open their latest test subject.
