It's early morning out by the pond. Mists still rise and float through the area from the waters of the pond in a way that may remind some of the light mist from a horror movie setting. Near the shore of the pond, Devlin can be seen practicing a form. He's dressed in a dark sports t-shift with a dragon and tiger yin-yang design on it and what to some would look like yoga pants. A black sash can be seen as the ends move as he moves. His movements are slow, deliberate, graceful, and to some dance like. Each movement flows from one to the next in a way that gives off a feeling of meditation in motion. A practiced eye that knows hand to hand, might see where these movements would lend themselves to techniques a person could use.

Morrigan's got a dive demonstration to do later and there's a good time to get coffee and something to eat before heading out to do that. She always liked to go to Gray Pond for demonstrations. It was easier and well, all the rumors. She catches sight of someone in the mist and she heads that way as she sips her coffee, that is until she sees who it is. "Morning, Devlin." she states as she stops at a conversational distance.

The form continues for about another minute as if Devlin never heard what was said. At the end, he makes a turn as he steps to face you. He appears to make a motion that reminds one of drawing back on a bow, this is followed by a punch where you can see power in the move and then he makes a motion that appears to end what he was doing. He then smiles, "Good morning Morrigan. I was not expecting an audience other than this strange homeless man that likes trying to take my bag." He steps in your general direction and then reaches up to knock a gymbag out of a tree to ctach it. "Coffee.. smells good."

"I was just watching. Didn't see any weird homeless guys around. And I don't think I fit that description." Morrigan states to that. "And yeah, needing to warm up for a few hours. Have a dive demo here this afternoon." she admits. "Did you have plans for the morning or just...practicing?" she asks him.

Devlin says, "No plans morning or afternoon, been here since about five thirty." He pulls a small towel from his bag to wipe the sweat off his brow. "Dive demo.. heard some one might do one. And I could do with a break from studying. Been nose to the grind stone to much." He flushes, "Talked to my Sifu yesterday on the phone, he chewed me out for not balancing my life better." A small chuckle is attempted to shed a little embarrassment, "So how are things going for you? And what is a dive demo like?""

"You are definitely an early riser." Morrigan chuckles to that. "And yeah, need to take a break between things or it's just going to be you burnt out." she tells him. Then there's a smile, "Your Sifu is wise. What needs balancing? Like you need to get out more and less working?" she asks him. "Things are going alright. Came over to check gear when it gets here. And the dive demo is just going to be what we do when we have to go in lakes or ponds." she admits. "So we'll be right over there." she points to the body of water.

Devlin nods, "Sifu said I need to date for one.. and the other just enjoy life.. go out and have fun more." He then points to the gold band on his left hand, "Cheating wife repellant, Works well at Military bases.." He sighs, "you would not believe how many wives cheat on deployed husbands.. or husbands on deployed wives." He then asks, "So.. what kind of qualifications are needed before you learn to dive?"

"Dates can be good. I'm absolutely rusty on dating, but that's because I got tired of guys wanting to fuck around." Morrigan shrugs. Then she ohs, "I thought you were married already." she admits. "Maybe that was why." she laughs. "And yeah, there is always a lot of sad cheating and divorces in the military. I don't think I could have done it." she frowns. "And basically you need to go through a basic dive course to get certified. Obviously you need to know how to swim. But really if you can swim we can teach you more stuff." she smiles.

"Only rusty?" Devlin chuckles, "Oh.. I think I may be worse off, Morrigan. That coffee smell is pure torture.. you a pro at torture or something?" he teases you. "I definitely can use a shower.. but may be I should hang around. Put my money where my mouth is as far as diving is concerned. So.. besides needing breakfast.. what do I need to do to be involved or start lessons?"

"I mean, I've not had one in about five years. So I'd say that's rusty." Morrigan chuckles. When he comments on the coffee there's a laugh and she offers over the cup, "Want a drink? I'm not dying of anything." she laughs. Then she gives a smile, "For diving? Just need to let me know when you're available and we can get you started on things." she admits.

Devlin and Morrigan are talking near the pond. Devlin clearly attired for practicing his martial arts and is seen wiping his brow at times with a small towel. He accepts the coffee from Morrigan, "Thanks.. at least you know the Army gave me my shots." He takes a sip and then hands it back, "Thank you. Well, sure.. I have a couple more exams to go.. being over prepared might not be a good thing. So, yeah.. may as well get that ball rolling."

Hera has felt the need to explore more and more, and such curiousity has led her to the pond. She's got a sketchbook in her right hand and her other hand hangs somewhat loosely but her side. She pauses a moment to take the scene in, then spotting at least one familiar face she waves in Devlin's direction. She doesn't verbally announce herself though if he's working on his defensive moves. Not moving with too much hesitation though, she begins to make her way to the two.

"Oh sure." Morrigan states as she takes the cup back with a laugh. "And sure. I've just got to go check things since the guys are here with the equipment. I'll be back in a bit." she tells him. Then there's a dip of her head to Hera as she heads towards a van that's just pulling up in the parking lot.

Devlin nods to Morrigan, "Cool.. and catch you later then. I'll be around.. and OH.. I got a place over at the bayside apartments." Seeing Hera he waves back, "Hi Hera.. " He points to Morrigan, "One of the divers for the town, Morrigan.. she has a demo has to go check things."

Hera looks over at the fellow redhead and offers a smile, "Oh, diving? Well that's interesting. The water can be quite peaceful but, definitely not my area of expertise. Be safe and, well, avoid the kraken."

Devlin says, "You just missed the juicy gossip too." He chuckles, "But I could use some food and coffee.. long work out for me. Was here at 5:30am." He relaxes some and guesses, "Came out here to sketch? Or was it something else?" He picks up his bag, "Morrigan is going to hold a diving demo here at the pond later. I figure, if I can't be a swat medic.. may be some other things I can learn. After all, can't wait on the shore line for a victim that needs treatment now."

Hera continues to walk toward her cousin, her heels partially pushing into the grass as she does. "Gossip?" she asks a she quirks a brow, "If I'm going to run an art shop where rich ladies get drunk and talk, I need to know the latest. Do tell. In fact." she smirks, "I'll buy you dinner for the update. As far as sketching, yeah." She opens up the sketchbook too and also inside are a few flyers advertising her shop, "Trying to get people interested in pottery. Hopefully not a lost cause. I get something in my head though and I don't give up, just gotta get it in my head."

Devlin nods, "Only time I get artistic is when figuring out a way to save a life when I do not have the right equipment. Fucked up inspiration for art.. huh?" He then chuckles, "Well, may be a vender cart will do. Or something else." He walks towards his new Jeep Rubicon. "I should put this stuff in the Rubicon. So how are you doing? And what is stuck in your mind? Pottery, you were saying?"

Hera rolls her eyes a little and says, "Look, and trust me on this, seriously, I have seen and well, been in situations much much worse." she whistles a bit as she sees the jeep, "Wow, nice ride." she playfully goes over to kick the tire with the tip of her shoe. "Doing ok, a little lonely. Thinking about getting a cat or something." she chuckles, "But, whenever I do get lonely I work on my art or work on my home. Kinda wish more people would come in, but, hopefully if I keep getting out and meeting people, it'll happen."

Devlin nods, "You may want to see if some of the business want some art for their places or may be for advertising?" He shrugs as he puts his gear in the Jeep. "Thanks. I got it when I knew I was coming up here. Figured if I am off duty and there is a serious incident and I am close by.. I can drive out if time is critical. This will handle the fire and logging roads ok." He then hmms, "Oh.. may be I escaped.." he teases.

Hera thinks about that for a moment and says, "You know, that might be a good idea there, quite a good idea. Can you recommend any businesses? The idea about stopping in at a university is there but, I dunno. Businesses are more profitable. They may take, but they can give more."

Devlin nods and thinks for a moment, "Well the fried fish place does a lot with mermaids.. they might need to refresh things or want new art." He hmms, "The coffee shop in the strip mall you are at, the owner does seem to like art. Of course there are some Doctor's offices.. tattoo parlor, couple of clubs..." He hmms. "Just a few guesses. Now I would bet the Historical Society would love some original paintings done from the old photos. They had a project like that going on in Fayetteville when I left."

Hera nods a bit as she thinks, "Remember the name of the person who ran the coffee shop? That's a good place to start, it would be. Wouldn't hurt to introduce myself to some of the people. Not that I'm too terribly extroverted mind you." she smiles slightly and says, "I guess just trying to leave a mark in the world."

Devlin nods, "I get it." He smiles, "I feel like I left mine with the lives we saved.." He takes a breath, "I think her name was Elen or something.. but if you walk in and ask.. bet you find out quick."
