Text

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Were we just having breakfast at Una's and I stormed off?

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Unless you're here in Seattle with me, I don't think so?

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Do you want breakfast, Ava? I have food!

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Why are you in Seattle?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : After the nightmare I just had, I don't think I can eat.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Need a proper wine shop so I can angst constructively about finding a good bottle of wine. It kills time. What's up?

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : That is a long way to go for a bottle of wine.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Not eat?!

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Do. Not. Cry.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Why would I cry? What the hell?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : It was a Dream. Messed me up.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Gray Harbor doesn't have a decent wine shop. Or if it does, I haven't found it. And I needed to drop some papers off with our lawyer for HOPE, anyhow. It won't surprise you that we have a lawyer not in this town.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Surely Olympia does. Somewhere closer than Seattle. But, ok. Lawyer, that makes sense. Outside of this town, also makes sense.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Are you okay, Ava? Need anything?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Do they have hard liquor there, too?

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Well, yes, it's a wine cellar and liquor store. Kind of high-end but not insane.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I'm okay now, thanks. It was just messed up. All the food was wrong. Like, the bacon had mossy stuff under it and you ate it anyway. Bread had weevils in it. Insects crawled out of your mouth Una. Neither of you were listening. Una you just got upset that I wouldn't eat. Ravn you wouldn't listen when I said something was wrong. Neither of you would help me. It was a mess.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Can you pick me up a bottle of Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey, pleeease.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Need it for my liquor cabinet.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Well now I want to vomit.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Sure. I'm stocking up a couple of Scottish single malts for myself as well. Yes, I know, I'm a snob. And I'm sorry -- that does sound awful. I may now just not eat for a few days. Ugh.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Wait, did Ravn eat in this?

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : PLEASE SAY NO

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : He was picking at stuff like he does.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Okay. Well. At least he didn't eat Dream food over real food.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : ... I actually don't find the idea of eating furry bacon all that attractive.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : No, that was poor Una.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Ew.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Sorry. 🙁

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : I mean, well. That would have been a definite Dream-tell.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : It was horrible. It felt very lonely.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : I bet. I promise, I'd listen to you in real life.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I know. That's why I was so confused.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Look, I'm an idiot in most of the ways that count but -- I'd never just not listen.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : But what if you're not under your own control? Or something else is wrong? I don't know. I feel like I'm getting more paranoid these days.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Well that's a terrifying thought.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Well, you do live in Gray Harbor, and you do seem to have a lot of attention from the Other Side. That was me this last year, too. On some level you need to -- roll with it, I guess. I kept getting thrown into strange stories designed to humiliate me, but you can't really humiliate somebody who already has little self esteem. I mean, yes, I'm a scrawny no-good in a fight, what's new?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Roll with it. I'll sure try.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Yeah, the best part of that kind of advice is that it's easy to give and ridiculously hard to do.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : If you figure out how, let me know?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I haven't slept with the lights completely out since the 7/11 thing though.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : I mean, not that I get targeted all that much, in comparison.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : 7/11?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I have regular nightmares all the time these days.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : That was a nasty one, yeah. Something that ate light. And people.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Oh, honey, you don't want to know.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I had to use my powers in a horrible way I never wanted to in that one.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Ah. Okay.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : I'm sorry.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Part of why I love having Kitty Pryde around is that -- well, frankly, she's scarier than a lot of these things. Not directly but her shadow, the Uncat. I don't know, might be false hope, but I like to think she's like a dream catcher. Little nightmarelings? Nom.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I already have trouble with small spaces. Add dark to that and it's a lot of trouble.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : I want one of those. Need to find a dream catcher cat of my own.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Oh Ava. 🙁

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : And They know. I mean, I get prodded in my fear of being no use to anyone, my social anxiety, and my lack of ability to fight all the time. They do know, and they do use it against you.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Ugh. It sucks.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Hey. Whatever happens. We have each other's backs. And when we don't, it's not us. OK?

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : This.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Damn right. I got your backs.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Sometimes we'll fight or argue or disagree, or whatever. But we got one another's backs.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Always.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : And I would never ever ever serve you gross food.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : ... And I'll never give food the justice it deserves but...

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Obviously. Your stuff is amazing.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : And I will forgive you every time, Ravn.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Look, we're all just people. We have fears and trauma. The Veil abuses the shit out of those. So we put our skeletons on the front lawn where everyone can see them, because it takes away that angle at least. Veil thinks I'm a useless, asthmatic ponce? Eh, it's true, whatcha gonna do about it? Life goes on. We all have as many strengths as we have weaknesses.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Oh! Random question.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Was de la Vega really the big bad wolf for the Halloween party?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Also, is Jules okay?

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Wait, what? You mean, when Rosencrantz was Little Red Ridinghood? Yes, he was. That was the joke.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Jules is off on a spiritual retreat type thing. In the woods. Alone.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : And, I think she is. She had a run-in with some bloke from the lobster opening night, apparently. Jules isn't one to say a whole lot but he freaked her out, somehow.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Okay. So both parts of the Dream were accurate in that regard.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Good intel, at least.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Creepy.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : That it was so close to accurate, I mean.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : You mean about de la Vega? Look, he can't come out just like that given he's the Chief of Police and people have Opinions. But yeah, they have a thing.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Itz wouldn't tell me who his guy was until they either got back together or didn't get back together. But you didn't know that in the dream and accidentally spilled the wolf-beans. Also, that's some kind of horse-shit that he can't come out. I'll fight people for his right to parade that beautiful man at his side.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : It's a small town, you know there'll be shit. No one in our community -- you know, our shiny little community -- gives anyone a hard time for being gay. White suburban middle class though? Ugh.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Oh shucks, that bigot's house burned down. What. a. shame.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Myeh, de la Vega ever makes the decision himself, I'll be there with the pride banner, and I'm straight as an arrow. Until he does, though, I figure it's his decision. Some people don't want to turn their private lives into a political statement.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : That's fair enough. As long as he's happy.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : And more important, Itz is happy.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : I hope he is.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : De la Vega isn't one to advertise his emotions all over town but as far as I am aware, things are being worked out. I'm a friend of him and Rosencrantz both and yes, there are times I've wanted to shove them both into a cupboard and lock it after them, but part of being somebody's friend is butting out, you know?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I have people lockers.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I'm just saying.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : See, the idea of waking up in one of your drawers is one of my nightmares. Particularly the one where it happens after the autopsy.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Mmhmm. Where do you think my claustrophobia comes from? Super valid nightmare. I will never let anyone prank you like that or anything.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Well, if this bloke keeps bugging Jules, I suspect you may end up with him in one of those drawers. That girl has a massive temper.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : She'll beat him to pieces with her bare hands.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Assuming she doesn't die in the woods. x.x

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Well, more fertilizer is a good thing.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Una, dearest, she's a native Quinault who's run around the woods all her life for shit and giggles. She knows what she's doing. I promise.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : She won't die, Una!

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : She's deliberately trying to get in touch with the spirit world, on her own, in the middle of a forest.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : She could walk off a cliff in a trance and not realise.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : She could run into a bear.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : I'm actually kind of glad she's doing it out there in the woods where the dangers are normal things. Instead of here, where half a dozen evil entities likely would be slathering her in ketchup already.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : Or she could disappear into the Veil and never come back.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Oh Una. You are the sweetest.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : No, I'm not

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Some days, you really wish you could just wrap everyone in bubble wrap and keep them on a shelf.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : I love you.

(TXT to Ravn Ava) Una : < silence >

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : Yeah, same. Not that way, obviously. You knew that.

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : HEY I SAID I LOVE YOU

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Don't make me come scream it in your lawn.

(TXT to Ava Una) Ravn : --- PLEASE let me get home first so I can get my camera?

(TXT to Una Ravn) Ava : Deal
