A number of things are easily discovered when it comes to Ravn Abildgaard's past; hit up a few search engines and let them do their thing because the man seems to not even know what the expression 'cover your tracks' means.
The name
'Ravn' is the Danish word for raven, as the corvid. It is an old-fashioned Scandinavian boy's name; not common, but certainly not rare, either. 'Abildgaard' requires a bit more tactical violence applied to translation software, but renders loosely into 'apple orchard' or 'a place where apples grow'. Danish names ending in -gaard are not unusual, and this particular one belongs to a old, noble house. The crest of the line of Abildgaard displays three red apples and a gold garden fence on grey, a reference to whatever medieval ancestor apparently -- you guessed it, grew apples.
The gentry
If it's not the Queen or Prince of Denmark, no one cares. Denmark has a population of six million people and several thousand people claim some aristocratic lineage or other. The vast majority of whom live just everybody else but with the right to put a crest on their stationery, should they decide to get some printed. The family of Abildgaard owns an estate in southern Jutland which is currently rented out as an art school. But sure enough, if you want to brag that you once had coffee with a Count, buy Ravn a straight black.
The blog
Finding Ravn's blog (in Danish) about his travels is not difficult and Google Translate is your friend. He claims that no one reads it. This may be true; the man is not a complete hack when writing but he gets sidetracked by urban legends, personal observations, and random speculation, rendering his blog irrelevant to anyone who is not interested in his personal opinions or in small-town Americana as beheld by a Scandinavian leaf on the wind.
The social media
Ravn's Twitter handle is @SableCladCorvid -- he doesn't post much and when he does, it's mostly inane stuff that supposedly, someone in Denmark cares to read. He's got an older handle as well -- @QuothTheRavn -- hails from his misspent early 20s when he fancied himself a poet. Narrator: He was not a poet.
The academia
PhD in History from the University of Copenhagen, specialising in 1700s Scandinavian folk tales. It's the Humanities; he presumably learned to ask if you want fries with that. English speakers may find it confusing that the Danish educational system differentiates between two kinds of PhDs -- one being the internationally recognised doctorate, the other a middling degree roughly between bachelor and doctor; changed in 1992 and again in 2002, and honestly, it's all very confusing and there is a lot of debate going on about whether it might be better to just adopt the English speaking world's norms instead. Anyway. Ravn is qualified to lecture at university level and style himself dr.phil., should he want to.
The personal trivia
Born May 18, 1990, Ravn is unmarried and has no known offspring. He is an only child, and his parents are both deceased. He complains at times, on the blog, about being asthmatic and bothered by it when the weather is cold or damp. He's a cat person. His name is mentioned in connection with past society events, and a couple of morning papers noted the passing of his fiancee in a traffic accident in 2015.

Unruly brown hair that fades to copper in the sun frames a triangular face with sharp features and cheekbones you could grate cheese on. Eyes the colour of blue-grey steel and usually, a day or two's worth of stubble. A tall, lean figure, and slender hands with long fingers usually gloved in black kidskin; those are Ravn Abildgaard's defining features.
Ravn's sartorial go-to is black -- jeans, turtleneck or shirt, blazer or leather jacket, depending on the weather. He's been spotted in a suit once or twice but claims that the only reason to wear a tie is to hang yourself in it. Someone with an interest in mens' fashion could get the impression that while he travels light nowadays, he was raised somewhere that considered itself to have standards.
A faint accent testifies to Ravn's Scandinavian origin. He'll try to teach you how to pronounce his name if you ask.

OPEN VIGNETTE: Mad as the Mists%r%rOn the morning of March 16th, 2021, Gray Harbor residents awaken to the sound of fog horns out in the bay and a fog advisory for the county coastline on their phones. This isn't too much of a surprise in late winter, as the fog is often heaviest in Spring and Fall. Still, this is particularly dense fog and mist. Meteorologists are astounded, and predicting it will last at least a handful of days, maybe even a week. Visibility in some places is reduced to only a few feet.%r%rBut this is Gray Harbor, so this is no ordinary mist. Anyone with Glimmer can feel something is up. Worse yet, they can see, hear, and smell it too. They're sensing things in the fog, extraordinary and unnatural things: dead and Lost people, mysterious beings, smells and sounds from other places and times, impossible landscapes lingering just out of view. Are these short Dreams, coming and going? Is the Veil even thinner than before? Or is something else afoot?
