(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : Good morning.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : Morning, Ava. Something up?

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : Acceptable thus far, yes. How are things?

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : You two haven't met yet. Una, Vyv. Vyv, Una. The two best pastry chefs on the planet.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : Oh!

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : Well, that is ridiculously overblown in my case, I promise. Just an amateur, thank you.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : Oh? I didn't know I had competition. Shall it be spatulas at sundown?

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : I knew you would say that, Una.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : I cede the field, honestly.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : As much as I would pay good money to see a spatula slap fight, I was hoping I could convince you two to work together to see if you could put something together before the masquerade. My Veil seed garden bloomed and surprisingly there were no creatures. Only fruits. Like nothing I've seen before. But they're amazing.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : Wait. You want us to... cook with Veil fruits?

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : Yes!

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : They are so good. You have to try them.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : Hello, Una. Are you declaring yourself an amateur in the sense of not particularly good, or in the sense of purely for the love of it? Or, I suppose, both. Although... well, I was about to say Ava's judgement suggested more the second, but suddenly I have slightly less confidence in it.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : You're just eating Veil fruit, willy nilly, are you?

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : I suppose I have to own my skill and say the latter? I make a decent cookie. But I'm no pâtissier.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : I have to echo this about the Veil fruit eating, though. Is that safe? I'm not sure how I feel about that.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : She does it for the love of it, but lacks the self esteem to declare herself actually good at it. But she is exceptional.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : I look forward to encountering the cookie.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : You would just adore the geoduck pastries she made.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : They were, at least, good for a laugh.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : Don't worry about the fruits, I studied them to make sure they weren't toxic first.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : Geoducks, the clams? Were they flavouring or model?

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : (Photo of a geoduck choux pastry)

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : And Ava, how many of these fruits have you eaten? What were they like? And did you dutifully record any and all reactions and outcomes like a good little scientist? In which case I suppose you're at least in good company with the self-experimentation.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : Clam pastry is not a taste sensation I'm particularly willing to inflict on people, I don't think.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : I still... Veil fruits? I don't know.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : That just sounds like asking for trouble.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : What kind of scientist do you take me for? Of course I did. I wouldn't have them made into treats for others if I didn't make sure they were safe without my own testing first.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : If it isn't safe enough for me to eat myself, then it isn't safe enough for anyone else.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : Ah, model, then. Well, it looks like you do know how to whip up a good stiff choux, at the least.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : Like I said, she's very good.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : As are you. But you are also daring.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : I'm going to choose not to read the inevitable innuendo into that. Thank you.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : Actual clams can work in a canapé, of course. Done right. But savoury only, I would suggest, yes.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : And a good little one, Ava, but it's still best to check. And the fruits had no effect bar deliciousness? You're quite certain?

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : I've eaten one of each of them, it's been 24 hours and there's been no effect.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : That still makes me nervous. What if you just can't see it? Or if whatever the impact is comes out in baking? I can't believe that a Veil fruit does nothing, when we've heard stories about Veil animals coming out of them.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : I imagine the animals are still going to come out of the ones I planted in Firefly Forest. I planted the ones in the Faerie garden to see how different they would be. Now we know.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : There was an... incident with Veil cannabis, a while back. Townwide, not a personal choice. Well, not my personal choice. Not to mention I've seen how certain Veil soup was made. And the Veil may not be the Underworld, but the name 'Persephone' comes to mind nonetheless.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : Oh god. You know you're not supposed to eat food offered by the fae, right?

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : ...and there's that, yes. So I lean toward a certain degree of caution. Has anyone with the other Arts examined the fruits yet?

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : I'm not saying everything that's grown in our yards is fae food, but... the combination of Veil fruit and faerie garden is... a thing? Maybe?

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : You guys are being way too cautious about this. It's not their fruit, it's mine. They aren't offering it, I grew it, and picked it.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : You have met me, right?

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : 'Cautious' is basically my middle name.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : Is this the same garden in which you grew a blue child? Just for elucidation.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : It is.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : Mn. Yes, that's less than entirely reassuring.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : I dare you both to just look at the fruit and try it and tell me it's not worth making into something.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : All right. Let me see this fruit. At the least I can see whether they seem in any way odd when poked at in my ways.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : Yes! At least have a look.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : And if it seems... sufficiently fruitlike, and you're bent on continuing to eat it, I'm sure I can see how it works in something for you, at least. I'm not currently sold on feeding it to a large and unsuspecting gathering. Some of the people I expect to be attending are almost entirely tolerable.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : It's not that I don't trust you, but... I mean. I don't think I would touch it, at all. Good luck?

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : Thanks anyway, Una. You should at least come meet Vyv while he's over.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : Sure, of course. I'd love to.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : That's the least worrying suggestion you've made all day.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : I will say that thus far, touching things hasn't gone too poorly. Being touched by things seems iffier. But I do rather feel any experiments ought to have at least two pairs of eyes on them. At least one of which, by preference, is not being experimented on.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : Well, you make come put eyes on me and the fruits. Both of you if you wish. To assuage your concerns.

(TXT to Vyv Ava) Una : All right. To ease my mind. Now I'm worried about YOU, let alone anything else.

(TXT to Ava Una) Vyv : All right. My eyes and I can be there in about half an hour.

(TXT to Vyv Una) Ava : I promise I'm fine! I'll see you then.
