I'm fairly decent with wiki stuff in general and usually willing to try to help if you run into issues or have something you're trying to work out whether is possible, so feel free to ask.
There are a few different ways this character may be involved in dialogue at times, and while I try to make sure it's clear what's going on in poses, I figured I'd list what I use for my formats here, too. So at present:

Desperately needs a haircut, iffy about his own grip on reality, and I would sooner stroll the streets entirely nude at midday during an International Staring Festival than wear what he apparently considers clothes.
On the other hand, he also seems to be intelligent, rather powerful at this psychic lark, and fairly willing to share his knowledge. That's a hand I'm not inclined to fold.
The good doctor. We have not properly established whether an apple a day would or would not effectively keep her away, but as yet I don't feel the need to experiment. With that, at any rate. Some of her own experiments sound decidedly intriguing, on the other hand.
Takes aesthetic care. Seems to more or less properly appreciate pastry. Quick and curious mind. A good start.
Acceptable suits and acceptable suites. A bit inclined to place himself in charge of things, perhaps. But he properly appreciates good pâtisserie and good tea, so that's something.
Appears to have talent, ambition, and drive. Hasn't yet burnt a caramel, which ought to go without saying but apparently doesn't, these days. We'll start with prep and basics and see where it goes from there.
Promising.
Seems to know what she's doing regarding researching the Veil and related matters, willing to share information as well as request it, and appreciates a good macaron.
But God, those sweaters.

If one needs a librarian to arrange a clandestine cremation... well, something's gone very strange, to start with, but one could do worse.
A kindred spirit, and thank God for that.
Interesting. It takes a certain chutzpah to bring pastry to a pâtissier. But she has a good family recipe and the ability to execute it more than acceptably. A good chef knows her strengths. Rather looking forward to seeing what she can do with fish. And coffee, for that matter. But I've not seen her around for a while, now.
Terrible luck in food-based other-world racing, but a dab hand at creating fetchingly unnatural hair colours.
Technically met naked. Also while fish from the waist down, but either way I suppose it qualifies as the proverbial equivalent of a formal introduction.
Dresses like the love child of Steve Jobs and a goth who couldn't really be bothered, but the quality and fit say more if one listens. Interesting theories; appreciates a nice precise word. And occasionally an amusingly ambiguous one. He can stay.
All right, I don't, strictly speaking, require an assistant. I don't, strictly speaking, require a car or a cashmere sweater, either, but isn't it nicer to have them? And only one of the three lessens the amount I have to deal with dry-cleaning, documents, dullards, and other such drudgery.
Has run off on me, in favour of children. Most vexing.
Twin sister of Corey, best friend of Bax. I can't say her aesthetic is exactly mine, but she clearly has one, at least, which is rather refreshing.
Odd to run into someone one knew in high school in another state altogether. But if it was going to happen, there were far worse candidates. Shame she's gone, but I suppose I can't blame her for not wanting to stick around.
I don't, strictly speaking, require a Veil assistant, either, but I intend to keep them nonetheless. Shame they can't help out on this side as well, really.
And not only because I'd enjoy seeing people's expressions and attempts to figure out whether and how to shake hands.
Mum. Back in San Marino, CA. Semi-retired orthodontist; volunteers as a docent at the Huntington. Plays tennis. Started a book club. Taking up dog agility, apparently. Can't claim she doesn't know how to keep herself busy.
Dad. Also in San Marino, generally. Incurable executive. Already retired twice, but it didn't take. Apparently, golf just isn't that scintillating. Shocking, I'm sure.
Elder sister, working as a corporate lawyer in NYC. Once sent me a C&D for mocking her haircut. It was a terrible haircut. Annoyingly brilliant — particularly annoyingly when we disagree. She's a shark.
Younger sister, studying to be a veterinarian at UC Davis. Single again; as predicted, Blaise Slashcal only hung on a semester or so. (His music was awful in any case. I can't speak to the math.) A bit too sweet-natured for this family. Would probably try to pet a shark.
Grandmama, the matriarch, She Who Must Be Obeyed. Still in London, thank God. Makes me look low-maintenance and inclined to martyrdom. Appears to feel that if it ain't Baroque one should certainly fix it, and obstinately refuses to accept that this family will not be continuing down the male line, thank you, so obviously we get on like a house afire.
Apparently still her favourite.
My aunt, Dad's little sister. Artist and art historian, consults with museums. Sometimes I genuinely suspect she arranged the timing and number of her children purely out of some sort of competition with him. First and most.
This would make her the only competitive spirit in the family, of course.
Uncle. Not by blood — he's Rosemary's husband. Nice enough, I suppose.
Yes, that means boring.
Eldest cousin, Vyolet's favourite. Pleasant, faintly awkward, quite good at things financial. They chat about legal blogs and big bankruptcies and new regulations as if they were exciting and play some sort of complicated game involving long-term scenarios and various legal and financial parameters I generally shorthand to 'bureaucracy chess'. I have no idea who's currently winning. Good.
Takes after his father.
Second eldest cousin, my favourite. Usually. Currently in my black books for foisting her little sister off on me. You owe me, Cory, and I will collect. Produces fashion shows, and has the best aesthetic sense of any of us — bar me, obviously. Clever, opinionated, not boring. Tends to something of an androgynous look and properly enjoys a good suit, so we let each other in on particularly good tailors and designers, and have something of an ongoing competition over the best accessories and overall looks.
I'm winning, of course.
Second youngest cousin, the odd one out. The most outgoing of any of us, and he's generally out going to parties and the like the world over. Quite the chameleon, at least as long as the background has a reasonably high net worth. Certainly the most likely of us to race a motorcycle. Or to end up in prison someday for a string of international jewel heists.
Nearly as clever as he thinks he is.
Gingembre, ma cousine bébé. Sweet, bright, bereaved. Somewhat excessive attention to detail. Yes. By my standards. If I have to have a family member in town, she's possibly the most restful option. Properly appreciates my work. And she does make fabulous tea.
Never quite managed the proper talk about the Art, and now she's off working again. Probably safer, I suppose...

I Love L.A.: All right, 'love' might be a strong term, but he lived in the L.A. area for most of his teenage years and the last few months of 2018/first few of 2019. Maybe paths crossed?
Around the World: Or perhaps they crossed elsewhere — in England when he was a child, various parts of France for the majority of the decade after high school, Switzerland and Japan after that, or during briefer visits elsewhere?
The Truth is Out There: He knows there are things he can do. He knows Gray Harbor is the sort of place that calls to it. What he's hoping to find out is how, why, and just exactly what...
Vyvyan Vydal was born in London, the second of three children in a well-off family. (His sisters are Vyolet and Vyktorya. He assumes if he'd had a brother he would have been Vyncynt. Or possibly Vyrn. Somewhat annoyingly, the parents who picked this naming scheme are called James and Anne.) For the most part, he had a standard if privileged upbringing, the sole notable change being when he was about twelve, and the family moved to Southern California. He hadn't been remarkably popular in England, and that didn't much change in the States, though he wasn't exactly reviled, either. Just a bit of a loner, with only a few people he'd have called friends. Not really a pattern that's changed that much since.
In any case: many people approaching the end of high school find themselves at sixes and sevens, overwhelmed by all the options for colleges, majors, future careers.
Vyvyan was not one of them.
At about age seven, he and his sisters 'accidentally' ate an entire batch of cookies meant for their parents' holiday party. Clearly the only reasonable plans to avoid punishment were to run away or to replace them before the crime was discovered, and running away would definitely mean no gifts. He managed to cut one hand and burn the other, and the results were of course not good enough to hide the crime, but there was something very satisfying about making cookies exist. Almost on par with making them cease to.
He started baking things fairly frequently from then, though only simple recipes. And then there was a vacation to France a couple years later, and the rest of the family nearly lost him when he stopped short in front of a patisserie window. Not the only child ever to do so, surely, but while the rainbow of macarons and delicate, regimented tartes and cakes and pastries likely made the others think "I want that" as well, eating them was only the secondary thought on his mind.
At first, his parents assumed he'd grow out of it, and indulged it as a hobby just as they did Vyolet's forays into ballet and Vyktorya's equestrianism. But he had both talent and drive, and showed no signs of getting bored. He had the grades and test scores to go virtually wherever he wanted after high school — so he did. Though they were a bit bemused by it all, his family didn't try too hard to convince him to follow Vyolet into one of the Ivies and a more traditional path; he'd always been far too headstrong for them to expect it to work. So, with their support, he headed back to France, to earn a Bachelor Arts culinaires et Entrepreneuriat (Option patisserie) from Ferrandi, then joined the Compagnons du Devoir and apprenticed around the country for another five years. After passing the licensing examination to officially qualify as a master, he worked briefly in Switzerland, spent a bit over a year in Japan studying their twists on pastry and some of the more local confections, and decided it was time to open a shop of his own.
That's the 'official' version. Inasmuch as there is an official version. Inasmuch, frankly, as anyone cares. It leaves out a few little details, however. It leaves out the day a fellow apprentice tripped with a boiling pot of jam, facing right toward him, and somehow — somehow — he wasn't hit by a single drop. It leaves out the time his watch fell off the dresser, and he caught it in midair. Without touching it. He was surprised enough it fell and broke anyway, but that wasn't the only impact it made. So it also leaves out the research on telekinesis and psychic powers in general that followed, most of which was clearly rubbish. But some of which was not. A visit to the catacombs in Palermo on one holiday and another to Aokigahara early in his time in Japan were both striking for the feeling they gave, but not many answers came along with it. Given their associations with death, it did lead to some reading on haunting, however, and from that he came across Dr. Mulligan's Parting the Veil. A bit of poking into the areas it mentioned suggested Gray Harbor might be the most likely spot for trying to figure these things out. And given that profit per se didn't really need to be a high priority in the shop plan... well, it was worth a try, yes? He's claimed to a few who questioned the location (and to whom he deigned to give a explanation at all) that it's easy to be noticed in a big city — but if you get the cognoscenti to head to a small town for you? Everyone knows how good you really are. And arguably, that's true. It just isn't entirely the point.
Vyvyan moves with grace and confidence and the impression he subconsciously expects the world will get out of his way -- which is a little odd, since his appearance isn't notably intimidating. Tallish, yes, but partly an effect of good posture: he probably does make it to six foot, but not much farther. Fit enough, but it's a lean musculature on a slender build. His dark hair is kept fairly short, though it still has a tendency to get a bit tousled. Then again, the blue-grey eyes are rather intense, and while the full lips and high cheekbones may well have seen him called 'pretty' at some point, he does seem to have a fair case of resting bitch face. Clean-shaven, he looks to be in his late 20s, and his quite-English accent is hard to precisely place.
He's wearing a peacock-blue three-piece suit, the matte wool helping to tone down the effect of the intense colour, with a tie of golden silk apparently hand-painted with large, tumbling blue feathers. Seen up close, the creamy shirt beneath these resolves into a pattern of tiny golden- and blue-tinted paisley shapes on white. A white-trimmed pocket square sprouts from the breast pocket, arranged so that the points create three neat layers, the shades shifting from the pale gold of the shirt pattern in the back to the deep gold of the tie in the front, by way of a middle shade in between. Brown suede chelsea boots peek from beneath the trousers, and now and then a movement may reveal his slim, leather-banded watch, or the antique gold stirrup cufflinks set with a line of citrines that also gradiate from pale to deeply golden. Everything looks immaculately well-fitted and well-made, suggesting a certain degree of affluence... or at the least, a certain degree of vanity.

The remnants of Cimaron were picked up by the jet stream, dumped off the coast of California into another system, and have now spun up into the sort of storm that gets its own name and Wikipedia entry.%r%rThese kinds of storms are the most brutal on the Washington Coast. Some Gray Harborites are old enough to remember the Columbus Day Storm.%r%rSummer is a weird time for this to happen. But this is Gray Harbor, which specializes in weird. So, as everyone scrambles to prepare for a weatherly beating the likes of which most people have never seen and may never see again in their lifetimes--what do //you// get up to? %r%r--%r%rThis is an Open Vignette scene. Meteorologists are astounded, and predicting it will last at least a handful of days, maybe even a week. Visibility in some places is reduced to only a few feet.%r%rBut this is Gray Harbor, so this is no ordinary mist. Anyone with Glimmer can feel something is up. Worse yet, they can see, hear, and smell it too.
