The News
Seen or heard something weird around town? Something they won't run in the paper? Feel free to drop a line to Ashley. He'll make sure the people know.
- Caffeine is Life: Coffee is the best. Coffee is the greatest. Coffee means that Ash can stay awake and avoid sleep.
- Music: New, old, up and coming: Ash is all about music. He can't do much more than clumsily strum a guitar or sing karaoke himself, but he'll tell you all about some obscure, retired band's history until you beg him to please, for the love of god, stop.
- Radio DJ: Ash is the overnight DJ for the local radio station. He's been the DJ for about a decade, but he's worked there for about fifteen years.
- Techy: Be it radios, computers, or other bits of electronic and technology, Ash is good with it. He can use it, fix it, and even take it apart and put it back together. Sometimes even without strange pieces left over.
- The Truth is Out There: Ash is convinced that the weirdness (at least some of it) in Gray Harbor (and that he grew up with) is aliens. And he'll prove it someday, damnit.
- What's in a Name?: Yes, Ashley is a 'girl's name.' He's heard it all. He doesn't care. He'll point you at Bruce 'The Chin' Campbell in Evil Dead and consider that the end of it.
Maybe he played a lot of football in school or maybe he's just one of those who actually cares about his physical health. How weird. Whatever it may be, Ashley Jones is actually in good shape, physically. Sure, he dresses like a freakin' nerd with things like corduroy slacks and vests (sometimes even sweater vests) and those thick black hipster glasses, but underneath there's defined muscles and body fat in a low enough percentile to make physical therapists weep. His dirty blonde hair is kept relatively short, but not so much so that it doesn't frequently stick up at crazy, awkward angles. He generally has a few days of scruff on his jaw, like someone who just keeps forgetting that shaving is a thing. Beneath a strong brow are very piercing blue eyes that are only moderately obscured behind the glasses.
There is also seemingly the ever present scent of grease. Sometimes it's even visible in a smudge on his hand or cheek.
