Bartender - Declan always follows the manager's measurements, but he's a good listener.
Local - Always down on his luck, Declan's lived in Gray Harbor his whole life. A lot of locals have probably seen him around the local bars and restaurants, if nothing else.
Declan is a native to Gray Harbor. Born and raised, he's also never really left. The town's taken a lot from him - his father was found murdered when he was seven years old, and his mother has been in and out of his life ever since. Declan's aunt, Mary, raised him and his older sister from there on out.
At sixteen, Declan began working an after school job as an assistant to a contractor. He did the work no one else wanted to, most of it physical labor. His real goal was to try and get a job at a night club, out of town. Shortly after junior year, he began working in the restaurant business to see that goal realized, but like a thousand other bus boys he didn't go anywhere fast. After graduating from high school, the contractor let him take on more skilled jobs. He also got a job as a waiter.
The next ten years were a grind. Declan's career went nowhere fast. He eventually separated out on his own, becoming a handyman for a few local businesses. He worked residential areas too, but the job wasn't enough to make ends meet. He abandoned his dreams of becoming a club owner and settled on bartending. He's worked for a few of the bars around town, off and on, for some extra cash. While working both jobs, he's seen some weird shit. Too weird. He's learned a few things along the way, too... like being able to lift objects with his mind. One night while working late, he heard his father's voice behind a cabinet. It was telling him to help. To please help. Without thinking, he lashed out with his feelings and threw the cabinet aside with a gesture.
Since that night, Declan's tried to keep that darkness out of his life. But every so often, he hears his father's voice and he reacts. There are periods where it's worse than others, and the only way to make it stop is to use his glimmer. For him, it's a darkness he doesn't want to explore, and he doesn't talk about it very much.
Medium height and peppered with freckles, Declan's always got product in his hair. He's usually in clean clothes, even when he's on the job, that fit tight around his sculpted arms and chest. The guy is no stranger to the gym. He has dark eyes, a narrow nose, and angular features. On his left forearm is a tattoo of a small cross.
