Born in Seattle, Washington to Maise and William McKay, Jewelia is the younger of the two siblings with Adam two years her senior. William as a retired marine helped his children understand how important it was to stand up for what you believe in. Their father was also an avid hunter often taking both children with him when he went camping and hunting. He taught both children the basics of survival, as well as how to shoot guns. Hunting is still an activity that she and Adam find enjoyment in doing together, and go hunting as often as they are able.

In High School, Jewellia Meet the girl who would become her best friend. The girl's name was Cherish, and she was completely deaf. It was because of this that Jewellia decided to take ASL classes so that she could better communicate with her friend.

In her junior year, she also took a photography class and fell in love with it, deciding to attend college for photography. Once in college with a mind toward traveling for her photography, she took French and Spanish as well, having a beginner's understanding of both but not much more than that.

Once she graduated college, Jewellia decided to travel a bit to take photographs of different places. Coming to Gray Harbor she fell in love with it, and the mystery surrounding it, Being curious about the places history and the people that lived there she decided to stay. She decided to stay.

When her brother called, sounding stressed, and asking if he could come stay with her for a while, there was no way she could refuse him, opening her small house up for him to stay in as well.

Jewelia is a petite, but athletic brunette with curly brown hair that hangs past the middle of her back, slightly tanned skin and like doe-like brown eyes. She stands just a few inches over five feet tall. She dresses in comfortable clothing usually jeans and tee-shirts, though if she is hired to do professional work she can and does dress professionally. She had her ears pierced twice on each side.
