He sees her at Mass most Sundays. They're not exactly well-acquainted, but apparently she works for the D.A. Which makes her... someone of whom he's wary.
The guy is a cop, but they also go to church together. Geoff regards him warily. But also doesn't think he's a total asshole. Even if he is a cop.
Listen. Geoff isn't interested in being part of whatever Seth and his cousin are selling. He's keeping his nose clean. He and Seth are friendly enough, and will sometimes shoot the breeze after church, but that's as far as it's going.
Chris and Geoff had been good friends when they were real little kids, but they drifted apart through middle school and into high school. Chris's dad was on the up-and-up, and Geoff's was on the down-and-down. By the time Geoff went to prison, they were more like acquaintances than anything else.
She was a few years behind Geoff in school. They didn't cross paths much, though he sometimes skulked around her parents' hotel, the Sea View Suites; their only mutual friend seemed to be Graham. Nowadays, he knows she's a nurse, and he sees her mostly at Saint Mary's.
Went to high school together. She was a year younger than Geoff; her sister (Lucy) was a year older than Geoff. Haven't really reconnected, since she worked in Seattle when he got out of prison, and then disappeared for over a year after her sister's death.
She was a freshman when he was a senior. And a total snob. They've probably said three words to each other in their lives.

Graham was three years behind Geoff in high school, but they were still pretty friendly. They had a lot of the same friends and definitely a lot of the same interests. In fact, Graham was supposed to be there the night that Geoff held up the liquor store, but he'd gotten scooped up in Seattle for picking pockets at the wharf. They haven't reconnected since high school, but Geoff is well aware that Graham works for Felix Monaghan, which means he's still a criminal. And Geoff wants no part of that life.

- Ex-Con - Robbed a liquor store at gunpoint when he was seventeen, and wound up doing eight years in the state pen just after he turned eighteen. He was paroled a couple years ago.
- Tattoo Artist - Getting a job with a felony record is hard. So he rents a chair at the local tattoo parlor. And his work is good. He's got a reliable clientele.
A Gray Harbor native, Geoff was one of those kids who just wanted for adult supervision. His parents were holding down two jobs a piece, and he and his two brothers just wound up in a mess of trouble because of it. As a child, it wasn't so bad, but as he slid into adolescence, it meant a whole heap of trouble. Like, the kind of trouble that starts as a little light breaking-and-entering and winds up with a seventeen-year-old Geoff holding up a liquor store at gunpoint. He wound up doing eight years in the pen for that stunt, missed high school graduation, the works. He went in just after his eighteenth birthday, and wouldn't get out till he was almost twenty-five.
Inside was... far from easy. And it was a terrible place to realize you were different. At first, he just thought it was the stress, the pressure, all of it getting to him. But slowly... slowly, it became obvious that Geoff was off. There was no one inside to help him through this, no one to point him in the right direction. He wound up throwing himself into anything he could to take his mind off his own mind: fighting, working out, art, reading, religion, all of it. He got his GED, he started doing prison-ink, anything. The only thing he wouldn't do was talk about it. The only person he ever opened up to inside was the prison chaplain, a hold-over from a Catholic upbringing.
"The Lord works in mysterious ways, son. Perhaps he is working through you." Geoff wasn't convinced, but he tried to be.
When he got paroled and headed back home, that was when Geoff realized he wasn't alone. There were other people - people he knew from high school, even - who had that feeling about them. They were like him. It was such a relief, he almost burst into tears. But it also meant that he was going to have to contend with his demons. He'd lost six years of his life to one dumb fucking mistake, one moment when he was just a stupid kid. It took him the next two building up a clientele as a freelance tattoo artist before he was confident enough to rent a chair at the parlor in town, and another year after that before he was really all the way at the top of his game.
That thing that made him different? Also meant he was a sought after tattooist - since he could sort of... mask... the pain when he worked. Or heighten it, if the client happened to be in to that.
Although he's not typically the tallest guy in a room at only 5'10", Geoff's usually a hard one to overlook. For starters, he's stacked, with a heavy musculature that makes him seem a little bigger than he truly is. Then there are the tattoos, beginning at his collarbones and pushing right over his biceps, back, chest, and down his arms; they're not full sleeves (yet), but it's obvious that he's sporting ink most of the time, with the most visible being a stylized rosary - beads around his left wrist, cross laying over the back of his hand. Light brown hair is kept short, usually just a little length on top, which contrasts with the untidy beard - sometimes lengthened to an inch or two, sometimes shaved to a lengthy stubble. His blue-green eyes are pretty enough by themselves, and his nose looks like it was broken at some point in the past.
Geoff dresses just like everyone else: a t-shirt (usually with some sort of logo or brand on it), jeans, and sneakers - Vans, Converse, something like that. When the weather's fair and he's in short-sleeves, the tats are impossible to overlook. When it cools down, he'll throw on a flannel, hoodie, or heavy jacket that makes it harder to notice all that ink.
