Marius
Norseman: Marius is proud of his Norwegian heritage, and participates enthusiastically in many Scandinavian heritage events. He is particularly fond (of course) of the Viking era, and likes to talk about it to most anyone who will listen.
WSU-H Student: Marius studies Architecture at WSU-Hoquiam, although he lives in Gray Harbor. He can often be found doing his homework in a coffee shop or (in good weather) outdoors.
Sew Your Own: When you're 6'3" and build like a brick shithouse, and looking for properly-fitting Faire attire, you learn to sew your own. Marius's work may not be awesome, but it's solid, and sometimes it's nice to have a sewing machine in your bedroom.
Artistic Type: Marius is rarely happier than when he's looking out over a natural landscape or particularly interesting building, getting it down on paper. He can often be found out and about, sketching interesting things.
Marius Ragnar Andersson is the first child of Kristina Marthe Andersson and Anders Kjetil Andersson III, and is very thankful that he is not a IV. He has a sister one year younger than him, and a brother one year younger than her, and all five of them (the three children and two adults) are exceptionally tall. Marius was always bigger than the kids around him, but instead of using that size to bully others, he preferred to spend time drawing and listening to music.
His Norwegian heritage has always been a large part of his life. One of the first pictures of him is as an infant, strapped to his father's chest in the midst of the Viking Fest parade in Poulsbo. By six, he was playing a young Viking in the parades himself. By 12, he was doing more than just flailing around with various (padded) weapons, he was "learning the ways of his people." Granted, that included eating lutefisk semi-regularly, but sacrifices had to be made. It wasn't until fifteen that he started in the Society for Creative Anachronism, building a persona as Sigurd de Okse (the Bull), a character who was violent and headstrong in all the ways that he wasn't. He learned about actual Viking fighting from northern Germanic Historical European Martial Artists, and has picked up actual fighting knowledge in addition to the impressive SCA skills he had gained.
But there was another heritage that was just as important to the Anderssons -- the ability to Glimmer. His mother learned from her father, and now taught her son. Her talents are neatly spread across the aspects, but Marius's own are distinctly focused on the Physical. He generally tries to keep it quiet, and subtle, sometimes using telekinesis to increase the amount of weight he can move around, but mostly he practices in his room, or out in the woods where no one can see.
School proceeded apace around the interruptions of pretending to be a Viking, learning to use Viking weapons, and learning to Glimmer, and Marius proved himself a quick study and a bit of a math prodigy -- when he could be pried away from art projects. Eventually, he found a way to combine them both, focusing on architecture and learning to design homes that fit neatly into the natural world that he loved drawing so well.
Broad-shouldered, and raw-boned, this young man still looks like he has some growing to do, despite being at least three inches over six feet already. His hair verges between dark blonde and pale brown, a rich wheat shade, and is cut close to his head on the sides and left a little longer on top, smoothed back away from his face to run down the back of his neck or to be gathered up in a little knot. His eyes are a pale gray-blue, set between narrow brows and a strong nose. A light beard and narrow mustache complement his wide jawline, giving some gravitas to lips that might otherwise seem almost delicate. His shoulders spread like the branches of an ancient oak, his torso muscular and taut in the way only a young person blessed with good genetics can manage.
