Just another Scandinavian kid dragged to all those festivals. Though Marius and I have been close for, well, forever.
Yet another Scandinavian kid. Also cute.
Uh. Bossman. Confuses me for Ash like on the daily. Cute though. You know, for being an old guy.
- Viking-ish: Growing up in Ballard-- the literal heart of the Scandinavian American population in Washington-- Astrid has spent much of her childhood and early adulthood buried in the history and mythos of her mothers' history. She participates in ScanFest and SCA events as part of a Viking clan.
- Ecologist: Astrid holds a bachelors in ecology and is working on her masters through a remote learning program out of University of Washington.
- Martial Artist: Since the age of 5, Astrid has been enrolled in Aikido. She holds a 5th degree black belt.
- Spirit Glimmerist: Astrid is notably weak in all other aspects of the Glimmer, but Spirit is definitely her power domain. Like all things, Astrid hones in on what she's good at and makes it into who she is.
- Adopted: Before moving to the US, Astrid's Scandinavian moms adopted her from the Philippines. She has no contact with her biological parents, but often wonders who they are.
First off, nothing about this young woman indicates any drop of Norwegian blood. In fact, she distinctly fits the colorings of Southeast Asia. Her skin is a warm tawny, her hair a lovely shade of brown mixed with darker honey, and her eyes are vibrant with notes of green and brown. She has a quick and easy smile that radiates with such unabashed humor she nearly glows with it. She's tall, and what had once been gangly has turned into long and graceful and athletic.
