Born and bred in Gray Harbor, Bennie is (and likely always will be) a Townie. Growing up in Easy Meadows Trailer Park on the edge of town, she always knew she was technically on the 'wrong' side of the tracks. Her father a degenerate gambler and her mother a housekeeper for the local motel, ends barely met for her and her brother , Judd, growing up. As soon as he was old enough, he left for the service and died in combat. His loss was enough for Bennie's mother to put her life to an end, and without her income, her father began racking up serious debt with his gambling habit and started borrowing money from anyone that would spare it. After disappearing under suspicious circumstances, Bennie was left alone in the trailer park to pick up the pieces (and repay the debt). Bennie dropped out of high school her junior year, got her GED and started waiting tables just to afford food and electricity. Taking night classes, she got qualified to become a basic EMT, a career where her certain talents would prove useful.
The first time Bennie felt the 'glimmer' was when she was young and her and her brother found what they first thought was a wounded bird. He thought the bird's wing was broken, but after holding the animal, Bennie was convinced it was only stunned. It was probably just coincidence that it flew away moments later. These sorts of things kept happening, Bennie often knowing what was physically ailing someone before they did. Her elderly neighbor even attributed her cancer being caught early to a random run in with Bennie in her teens.
A blonde woman on the taller side, with a fit physique, blue eyes and an easy bright smile. When she's not in her utilitarian duty clothes, Bennie has a penchant for making thrifted clothes look stylish by adding the right accessory or altering them with her sewing machine.
